I agree. The 90s was a good time in this town. My dad worked at Pfizer and I'd hope I was in the same spot, with my own house, family... Nope. Lol.

I was born and raised in Terre Haute. We have our issues just like every city, but it is a nice city and a great place to raise a family. A recent effort is gradually building up Downtown, which was becoming almost abandoned and was a shell of its former self. It is about 65,000-70,000 people in the city limits. So, not too big...not too small. I have been living in China for 7 years and havent been able to go back to visit. I miss it very much and plan to go back later with my wife and daughter and settle down there. Thanks for the video. It was great to see The Haute.

I'm from this City so I'll give ya some tid bits of what you were looking at. 1st though: Why are you so obsessed with alleyways? Lol. Like every medium to major city has them, & they're all creepy. Lol That Theater was one of many stage theaters that existed in downtown Terre Haute from the 1890's through 1930's that where opera houses & play houses. That particular theater was built in 1922 it is called The Indiana Theater. The intersection where that coffee shop was the original "Cross Roads of America" it is 7th Street & Wabash Ave (US HWY 41 & US HWY 40 [The Old National Road]). That coffee shop is the CornerGrinde & is part of the dinner attached in between The Verve bar & the CornerGrind. It's called Boo's Cafe. In my opinion the coffee shop has terrible hours, but good coffee. That "Dinner" across the street The Black Angus is a Steak House ($$), they've been around for year since I was a kid & have been in several locations. It's (Black Angus) located in what had been until recently (approximately 2 to 4 years) a floral shop called Heinl Floral Shop, & had operated well over 100 yrs. There a ghost story attached to that place, if that's your thing let me know. The place you stopped at out side the city is know as Boot City. It's not that impressive, unless you're in the need of a cowboy hat, duster, Carhartt, cowboy boots, work boot, or bluejeans. All the shops are owned by the same owners. It attracts quite the older crowd w/ it's Ol' Opry (when it is open) playing old bluegrass & country music. It's been around since the Late 1970's or Early 1980's. The Court House grounds you pretty much got everything right. That tall monument is from the Spanish American War.
