The Palmdale Plant built this along with the Original P3s in nearby Burbank, Cal. In the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, the US Navy used the Orions--and to this day the Coast Guard here in Florida use the P3's also. Great Plan. And the Canadians are as good as they come. Glad they're still in use. It's a Magnificent Plane--

The FE was probably out having a beer and a smoke! They left out the smartest guy on the crew!

For those that say it looks ancient inside clearly don't know the capabilities of the CP-140.Bear in mind that this video was taken 6 years ago... The birds are completely different. For those that suggest the P=8, I'd want an aircraft with an extremely long loiter time, something the P-8 doesn't have compared to the CP-140.

This is an aircraft not currently ready for flight. There are no oxygen candles nor parachutes in the racks above the crew stations. A carefully staged "demo" sitting on the ramp....
@CP1404059 жыл бұрын
Yes, the aircraft that are flight ready have all that equipment on board. The lack of parachutes and oxygen candles makes me believe that particular aircraft is a "hangar queen". FWIW, I flew aboard the CP-140 with 405 Squadron out of CFB Greenwood for several years.

+CP140405 I don't know who you are or what you did but we shared some of the same ground. I flew with 415 Sqn back when we actually did ASW flights over the Atlantic as well as the secondary duties that 407 is apparently fighting for to keep busy. The avionics have changed a bit and the "wet sensors" being passed on to enlisted is new to my ears but I pumped my share of sono tubes at 3 Gs or so and saw my fair share of the "Cold War"; if you wanna call Bosnia and Melosovich "cold". Watching this makes me feel like the military is continuing it's downhill decent into hiring and training pussies.

We probably know some of the same people then... I was a Nav with 405 in the late 1980s and on into 1990...
@robsmith83048 жыл бұрын
I was an AESOp from 1992 to 1997 there.

I got out in 1990, so we didn't pass paths.. but guaranteed we both know a few of the same people... it's a pretty small crowd.
