Me and my husband talked of doing this together, he died from cardiac arrest. We were together 19 years. I'm going to build me a mini van, get a little lap dog for companionship and hit the road. I know his memory will be with me all the way!!!You ladies are very inspiring!!! 💜💜💜

So glad she didn’t apologize for being part time. So many of the channels I watch people are almost apologetic for being on the road part time. Having a sticks and bricks and the weekend van is the best of both worlds

My advice fwiw. I’m an aircraft mechanic but have also always kept old vehicles running for us and the kids. I have a 2005 grand caravan with 215k+. Do the maintenance, especially all the fluids. It’s hard to spend that money when it doesn’t fix a problem or make it perform better but it’s worth it when you’re homeless if your vehicle breaks down. Also your serpentine belt will shut you down if it breaks. You’re about due for that & a battery if it hasn’t been done Cheers!

Thank you for reminding me about serpentine belt !! I didn't put it on my list ! You guys are lifesavers. Blessings from Florida. Frances

I wouldn’t want it to be a “side of the road” repair. Also there’s a tool to take the tension off that makes it easier. Wouldn’t be fun at night or in poor weather

Excellent. You can drill several holes in the side of the terracotta pot. To make the drilling easier just soak the pot in clean water over night and then you can drill your holes.

My number one fav build so far! This is absolutely perfect. I am in the exact same place. 50th anniversary this year (my pic is old because my mom is in it and my mom has been gone 11.5 years) my husband doesn't want to travel. I do, but I may talk him into occasionally going. Your van is perfect. So happy I have found you. Thank you Minivan Lee for sharing ❤ .

Outstanding!!! Lee, your questions make you a wonderful interviewer! Coupled with Elaine’s pure minimalistic genius in the design of her minivan, plus fantastic tips-like the toilet system and decoy tent-make for a truly valuable use of my time. I can’t tell you how much I admire and appreciate both of you being so truthful about your relationships with refrigerators. I’ve subscribed to both your channels. Wishing you both well in your travels and in life.

I definitely know you were at home in your van. I could tell on how you mentioned what works for me but you do what works for you!! Absolutely beautiful. Because everyone is unique and things get optional as you use or don't use it. You definitely creative with wood , thankful that Home Depot helped you with your wood invention that's awesome!!! With plywood . Also your throne bathroom also was creative with use of animal pellets to reduce and secure your toilet with use organicly that was definitely private and space conscience yet using space for bottom of your mattress bed that was definitely COOL that agreed to me as simple and practical for traveling and camping. And room enough for you and your husband and yet practical for your grandchildren car seat and or other wise sits 4 adults comfortable. Your video was so homey I felt very relaxed to be inside your little home away from home. Thank for sharing your Van convertion. Amazing!! That took alot of work with henges and assembly and customized to your needs but definitely worth it . You seem very happy with it as well. COOL!! Looks like regular passenger van that's what I like about it. Great job!

Fascinating to have it designed so that the lagun table top could be taken off to just fit and allow a second bed. I hope her husband comes sometime for an adventure:) She said her bed is 24" wide, which may seem narrow. However I often take a long nap, which has occasionally taken all night if I fall asleep during a movie, on my couch. I just measured it and it is 24" wide exactly. Plus, my poodle often stretches out next to me! He loves to be between me and the back of the couch. So that is very doable. Solar panel and strap: I don't know, but you may need to move the strap on the solar panel to the very edge so that it is not covering any of the actual solar panel portion. Some panels barely work if any of it is covered. It will be interesting to hear how that works.
