Offroad riding at present in the West Alps it became immediately clear, that a larger tank bag is a hurdle, especially during steeper climbs. So yesterday I put my tank bag to the tail and switched to an Ortlieb Rack Pack bag on the tail today. Fully happy with that - of course a dedicated tail bag provides faster access.. Keep on with the great vids and hope to see you on the road again!

It is really annoying isn’t it. And i was looking for something that works onroad amd off-road. I did add a very small Enduristan tank bag - 3,5 liter - smallest they make. 80% of my storage needs are camera equipment, accessories and batteries 😂 it helps to have batteries up front

Interesting product. I’ve never thought I would ever purchase a tank bag for a host of reasons. That tail bag is so simple it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Vielen Dank. Gepäckrolle geht quer rauf auf dem Soziussitz- also nicht mehr längs wie bisher. Bin noch mitten in der Reha. Frühestens Anfang Oktober kann ich übers fahren nachdenken - Tour wäre dann ab Mitte Oktober also fast schon zu spät 😂 mal sehen wie es die nächsten Wochen geht mit der Genesung

@MotoVibes Vielen Dank für das sehr instruktive Video. Und die Idee, die originalen Befestigungsriemen durch solche mit Enduristan Schnallen beidseits zu ersetzen, finde ich super. Aber ich konnte trotz genauem Hinsehen nicht erkennen, wie Du die männlichen Schnallen an den originalen Befestigungen an der Hecktasche befestigt hast. Vielen Dank für eine Erläuterung. Besten Dank. Die Schnallen sind mit schwarzen Kabelbindern an der Hecktasche befestigt - ist Tatsache nicht so leicht zu sehen 😉

Hey, Just a quick following question - How do you tighten it to the bike? I've heard a lot of people have problems with the bottom velcro system, or does it have some belt-tightening points? Otherways it's gonna wiggle lose... I hope you understood my question. :) Thanks

Yes, I think I understood the question - I think you are referrening to the first iteration of this tail bag with the bottom velcro straps - Touratech has made some design changes and went away from the bottom straps to the side mounted straps - which makes a lot more sense. The initial idea of bottom straps works good if you can remove the seat and then mount the tail bag but I like to take the bag off the bike without having to remove the entire seat for it. Anyway, the latest iteration will have a different mounting system (check the photos on Touratech's website and you might spot the difference). The bag in the video is already the "new" version which can be mounted very tight. I hope this helps

Just got an Enduristan Sandstorm 4h, it's lovely quality. I don't do more than gentle greenlaning, it's maybe a touch large on my crf300l but only the map pocket as that's bigger than the bag itself. I love the bag's quality.

Moin Roberto- ich hab als Gegenstück die beiden Bänder von der Enduristan 6 l Tasche genommen, die noch hatte- somit reduzierte sich die Anzahl der Schnellverschlüsse auf 2 Paare. Diese sind dann mit jeweils 2 Kabelbindern an allen 4 Ecken befestigt und somit ist das ganze auch schnell wieder Rückbaubar. Ich hoffe das ist halbwegs verständlich 😉 beste Grüße Oliver

Servus Oli, ich habe mich auch für den Enuristan Tail Bag entschieden. Top Material und absolut klasse verarbeitet. Passt perfekt auf den Heckträger der 1290 SAS. Ich habe dort alle Dinge untergebracht, die ich für jede Ausfahrt dabei haben will. Der Tail Bag ist dauerhaft dort montiert und gegen Diebstahl mit einem Pacsafe - Kabelschloss gesichert. Für größere Touren kommt dann zusätzlich noch ein Tankrucksack zum Einsatz und bei Bedarf eine wasserdichte Tasche auf den Soziasitz.

@@MotoVibes Als Tasche benutze ich die Touratech Adventure Rack-Pack. Die ist ganz ok, ich würde aber zwischenzeitlich auf den Duffle Bag von Mosko Moto wechseln. Mosko Moto stellt auch sehr gutes Zeug her. Musst du dir mal anschauen. Als Tankrucksack habe ich mich für den Givi XS308 entschieden. Wie du ja weißt, passen leider nicht viele Tankrucksäcke auf die SAS, ohne Probleme mit Lenkeinschlag usw. zu bekommen. Der XS308 ist hier der für mich beste Kompromis hinsichtlich Schnellverschluss, Wasserfestigkeit und Kapazität.

What's the real capacity of this bag? Touratech lists it at 8-12L, but that doesn't make any sense, because I have in on the table next to the Givi ST607B listed at 22-26L, and the Touratech looks either equal or slightly larger in terms of inside capacity in both folded and expanded states.

From my experience it is pretty accurate. Also in comparison to tank bags I own and what I can fit in them. Try loading both up and then see. Maybe the numbers are off

Thank you. The lack of secure storage is the biggest downside of soft bags - even if you could lock the bag it would be very easy to remove from the bike. Even hard cases are not 100% secure but it’s a bit harder to steal something

Great video! I saw this on 50% off and was interested in it as it compares to the Enduristan version. I still love my Enduristan 4H 6L tank bag but might get this as it's on sale! I recommend a smaller tankbag or handlebar bag for handy items.

The pannier rails on the side are still there - enough to grip the bike and put it upright if needed. I will do a video on the new luggage setup some time - I will not need the tail rack to attach the luggage.

alle richtig was zu sagst, daher habe die "Extreme" Tasche auch seid Anfang des Jahres. Allerdings auf meiner GS mit Platte anstatt dem Soziussitz. So perfekt "im" Motorrad, stört daher nicht wenn man mal einen Rücksack an hat. Allerdings musste ich vorletzte Woche in Südtirol feststellen, dass die Tasche auch innen Dicht ist, da meine Trinkflasche durch die Druckunterschiede aufgegangen ist und innen ein Wassersee stand ;-)

Ew to adventure riding, coming from 15 years street touring. Why would a tail bag be better than a small top box? Topbox will lock and be waterproof forever. Tail bag, if like a rain coat, the zipper will leak one day.

When I bought this tail bag I liked the small size an expandability along with the super light weigt. Top boxes tend to be bigger, bulkier and heavier. Most come with a lock which is something you do not get on most soft luggage. This tail back was to replace my tank bag and fit my drone and other camera equipment. I still use it when I only carry one drone - for pure enduro events for example. For my longer tours I have experimented with a Pelicase to fit both my drones - that Pelicase is hard luggage now but still smaller than the majority of top cases kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHmagoh5ibBneJosi=1PNAYOsuuamPAs5- I liked the pelicase for the quick access of my equipment but it is too small gain as I bought a new drone. This year I am trying something different again - back to soft luggage. My needs change and also the things I bring or don't bring - I have multipe luggage solutions now so I can pick and chose
