I enjoyed your delivery style but please take the time to review some of your terminology. For example, 3 windows in a row are not "triple hung" which refers to 3 moveable vertical sections of windows. These were simply 3 double-hung windows. I'm sorry, but a plank sitting on a radiator is not a window seat! Hopefully, the house will wind up in good hands that despise white paint on natural wood as much as I do! Thank you!

Thank you so much for that tour. I was heartbroken when I saw that it had sold and I missed my chance to get in to see it again. That was my grandparents house until the 1980's. Not much has changed in it. Seeing it took me back to my childhood running around all of those rooms. Great memories.

My grandmother had a similar Tudor home, and our favorite pasttime as kids was playing hide and seek with so many hiding places. Later I was engulfed in the library with mom's Parlor piano we played on. It sold twice since 1981 and changes were made. It cost grandparents $15,000 and now worth $1 million. I miss the home so much, it became a part of me.

I’ve watched this house tour several times already, but just love the tudor and storybook house tours. This channel is the best, the slow pans of the camera in each room or area really lets us be in the house. Ken’s tours are wonderfully filled with history and architectural knowledge. I hope whom ever purchased this house doesn’t destroy the woodwork or remove all the great architecture trying to modernize .

Has been a while since I visited St.Louis. But loved walking Central West End, especially in autumn. So many beautiful and grand homes. I cared for a family in Clayton. The elder lady, lived on Berlin Avenue, at the time of The World's Fair. Her father taught her a ditty to find her home, if she got lost. "Forty-five forty-two, Berlin Avenue". She said they went to the FAIR, everyday. She was thirteen. They were there, the day Alice Roosevelt, fell into the Basin, from a capsized gondola. Everyone was so relieved, when Alice stood up. This lady lived to be 106 yrs. Just imagine.

Stunning home and one of the rare examples of a historically significant home that has been impeccably maintained with the original architectural details intact. Where I live, most structures of this era have either been demolished and, or the few that survived have suffered some assault of poor remodeling/renovation over the years prior to the changing laws in acted in the 1970's (?). In addition, I wanted to mention how much I enjoy the content your channel provides, showcasing a diverse variety of homes and architecture. Aside from being an outstanding and articulate host, you have an acute awareness and ability with the camera to capture the space and details of each interior which is really important when touring a property because it really acclimates the viewer to the room. I look forward to your upcoming videos. Sincerely, Louis Nelson.

What a wonderful house, I love the secret study off the dining room and tha amazing ballroom on the third and fourth floor, you could put an orchestra in the loft and dance in the ballroom below. They did a very nice job with the renovations, I would have loved to see it in its original layout. I wouldn’t use that big closet at the top of the stairs as the owners suite closet, I would use it as a linen room and my office would be that lovely paneled room on the second floor. I wonder how much this house is selling for? Well thanks for another amazing tour Ken, you’re the greatest. Your friends ChuckandMax

She's a beauty. Older than some of the rebuilds in Nuremburg. Yes, people were not touting their germanic heritage as much in those days, Saxe-Coburgs became the Windsors, Battenbergs became the Mountbattens and Robert Praeger lynched by a rowdy Collinsville, Illinois mob during WWI. I think the closets may be later remodels.

St. Louis is blessed with wonderful homes and wonderful communities. I love what you are doing. I really respect people make changes within the character of the home. The Victorian house I grew un in, had a very similar fireplace cover, minus the gold. Just a little bit of negative , crystal knobs are not uncommon in older homes, even much less expensive ones. I too love them , show them, but please don’t talk about them so much. There is so much to say about older homes. to my sorrow Kirkwood , has in recent years torn down many, many, old homes. Sometimes changing the quaintness of the neighborhoods. I will happily watch whatever you choose. There is a historic contemporary area in Kirkwood called Sugar Creek. It is recognized in Architectural studies. Also includes a Frank Loyd Wright home. .

Nice tour, odd that the doors to the rooms had plain doors, but most of the closets had more ornate doors.

That certainly caught us by surprise, too!

Lots of work and obviously a few years of neglect. But a great starter buy.

One day, when you retire, can you please go to France and do exactly the same program looking at French architecture? Just a thought ☺️

I love this house. But I was waiting to see that entryway water closet under the stairs. He never went back to it. 😢

That knotty pine room is suspect to me.

Nice, but only about three feet from houses next door. No privacy. No quiet.

I'm still waiting to see the powder room when you first enter the house. The "updates" are horrible. Not sure what would be right for that house but not those. Over-all a gorgeous home.

Unfortunately, the files from the powder room corrupted so we decided not to include it as a last minute decision while editing. We are glad that you enjoyed the house tour!

Beautiful home. However, I don’t think the secret den was original it totally departs from the rest of the house or someone put the knotty pine in during the 50’s. Also, it appeared some of the bedroom doors were not original as they appeared to be flat panel. The updates could been better, but certainly livable for now.

@@ThisHouseI actually Liked the kitchen, honestly I don't think a kitchen has to show the age of the house, I love modern kitchens, yes even in old homes

The door to the blue room had secrets to tell. Very worn and distressed. Maybe that's where they kept the lion.
