-I'm glad he didn't do another barn house. - I'm glad he slowed down on all the Lego Mickey Mouses. I know it was killing him not to fill up all of those shelves in different parts of the house with the Lego Mickey Mouses. -Those thin leather light fixtures are becoming more common and in a few years they will look dated. -Not designing a place for the ovens in the kitchen and then sticking them in the pantry is a flaw. -In the chef's kitchen the door opens right in front of the oven a disaster in the making. -I would expect towel warmers in some of the bathrooms but these don't even have a towel rack. -The theater pit looks cool but it's going to get old quick to jump in there every time just to watch a movie and fall asleep. Also, only 3-4 good seats in the theater. -Spa doesn't have a sauna and it's just two beds in the garage. -No wow factor in the entrance -Bar in the entrance is a dry bar with not even a mini fridge. If you are going to do a bar at least do a full functioning bar. -They should have made the hidden closet into a safe room a lot of elite clients are requesting those. A missed opportunity.

This was a mostly correct assessment, but at least a few of these things can be fixed. The downstairs/garage, central unobstructed view, and massive master bedroom/closet/bathroom will prob be enough to sell the house for mid 30M. "Rooms that look like they're AI generated" - that is an extremely accurate description. Many of these rooms look like conceptual renderings - they look too perfect to be real. Thank you for the tour, Enes. My thoughts on this project: The initial concept for this home had great potential, blending modern elements like brass, wood, and steel. However, the numerous flaws are hard to overlook: 1. The Arrival: - While the main entrance is strong, it is overly dark and lacks a focal point. Additionally, upon entering, there is no city view to provide a 'wow' factor. Instead, an 8-foot high astronaut sculpture has been placed, which may become tiresome and would eventually need to be replaced. Furthermore, the bar area is impractical, lacking essential features such as fridges and storage for serving guests. 2. The Finishes: - The rustic wood ceiling panels clash with the home's otherwise clean and modern design. - The wood paneling on the walls evokes a 70’s aesthetic that feels terribly out of place. - The use of maroon marble in the spa and bedrooms is a major design misstep. - Open pore travertine for the kitchen counter seems extremely impractical. - The use of basic grey marble throughout the flooring of this home is very uninspiring. 3. Form over Functionality: - The garage opens directly to a main stairwell, allowing fumes to enter the home. - The placement of a huge brass curtain in the living room, in place of a television, is impractical. - The cinema room seating is designed more for lounging and gathering, offering only two or three spots suitable for watching a movie, instead of proper forward-facing chairs. 4. The View: - The immediate view consists of a large expanse of uninspiring one-story buildings and an unattractive old block of apartments to the left. - The larger view of LA is underwhelming, with the city center too distant to make an impact. Which further enhances the smog issue. Because unfortunately, that smog will be ever present due to the surrounding mountains that trap the pollution within the “basin”.

I am completely with you. It’s like he wanted to try every single idea that came into his head instead of just selecting a theme and shelving the rest. Way too many fails, including being priced way above what it should be for the ZIP Code and location. The bones of the house are great, but that interior is going to be out of date in like five years and you are stuck with it because you paid too much. unfinished travertine on the kitchen counter? I can't imagine living in such a mess. This place obviously wasn't designed to be lived in. Enes was right when he called it a show because that's what it is. If Max Nobel thinks this is a good representation of his design skills, he's way off base. After seeing this, there's no way I'd retain him to design a home for me. That house costs so much money that even if you were to make $500k per year ($1,370/day) then you still wouldn’t have enough cash to purchase that house in 10 years time, in 25 years time, not even in 50 years time, and let alone more than 81 years time because it cost over $44.5 million dollars for a single house. Even having the highest paying job in the USA which is a CEO who makes $396k/year according to Nexford University website can’t even afford you that house in your entire lifetime.
@BernhardWeber-l5b6 ай бұрын
Huh? There's a lot of CEOs that make millions annually. Also, a CEO is just an employee. These houses are for the owners of the companies, not necessarily for "simple" employees

Bad source. Tim Cook made $3million on salary alone. Once you're any senior executive (executive director, VP, president, CEO) you make more money from bonuses which are often stock payout. Tim Cook's total compensation was $63 million 2023.

That kitchen is a fucking disaster. Even though it's a "show kitchen," it should still be somewhat functional. The fridge and freezer on opposite sides, ovens in the pantry, whose door blocks the fridge when open, those range vents that would barely pull smoke or anything really (and would just get stuff spilled in them), steps coming out of the kitchen, and then worst of all, countertops full of tiny holes just waiting to harbor all the bacteria. And only one island for 44m? But it suits the rest of the house. A gaudy, tacky mess. I'm gleefully looking forward to Arvin Haddad ripping it apart next week.

The door to the chefs kitchen also blocks part of the right oven and cooktop, not to mention that room looks depressing to work in.

Why is the island so close to the kitchen aswell can barely move with cabinet door open

was thinking the exact same thing, i genuinely want to know what their justification was mainly for the fridge and oven setup, i cant think of a good reason

I find this home beyond exquisite, its stunning. This is designed by someone who gave it their all and who has outstanding talent in design. I love it inside and out! And I spotted those Wilson Audio speakers immediately, the greatest sound quality you can have. The mix of I-beams with reclaimed wood: Love it. There's very little to not love in this design.

When storing wine it should not be in contact with any form of light so a window in your wine cellar is not thought out and a pretty bad idea.

What's with the cameraman calling things out like, how hard would it be to clean the counter, or why is this the way this is? I'm a big fan of the channel, but Mikey never tried hijacking the tour or sabotaged the selling points. This new guy gotta go

That's not an infinity edge pool. It's an edgeless pool. Infinity pools blend into the sea or ocean beyond the edge, making the water and the view "infinite"
@NoElleNoParty6 ай бұрын
Wrong, any zero edge pool is an infinity pool, as long as it blends into the view.

Wine should preferably stored in a dark room as the UV-Light negatively impacts the taste of the wine by initiating a chemical reaction. Even if the bottles are tinted the UV-Rays can still pass through the glass.
