I have viewed, in person and on the internet, hundreds of homes ranging from >1,000,000.00 to < 50,000,000.00 and there have been only a handful that I'd feel I was "at home" in - and most of them were MCM designed homes. I just love them. This one is perfect.

Cliff May was not an architect. He had neither training nor license.

Nor was anyone that built the coliseum. It wasn’t a thing until the late 1600’s.

Cliff May was my father. He built his first homes in San Diego and Coronado Island. He moved to Los Angeles in 1940. I lived in 4 homes: Mandeville Canyon, Old Oak Rd, and Old Ranch Rd. He was always experimenting with materials, lighting, and landscaping. Our last two homes had skylights and sprinklers on top in case of fires. My dad had his own airplane and flew to the out-of-town homes. He used some of the building materials on site.

Another cliff may kitchen destroyed. Big disgrace.

The owners this developer bought the home from had gotten rid of all the hallmark features of a Cliff May; the developer did a good job of restoring much of the character. The windows in particular!
