Sick to understand how the timecode works. With Deadmau5 talking about how everything is pre programmed, it is to a point, but its all being triggered. Currently learning MA3 and have been trying to understand how some of the network stuff is triggered. thanks for the video!
@CamWhiteLights Жыл бұрын
Agreed, I think you can only prepare so much. We’ve never run a pre recorded set & never will. Hard enough to keep to the 90+ song set list we have Time coded so far. I need to start working on MA3 too, big jump but I’ll do it some day 😂

I will be screwed if we have to go backwards to ma2. Couple venues have them built in so not looking forward to that. haha @@CamWhiteLights

Cool. I don't know if that DMX Artnet adapter supports POE but you could replace that switch with a POE switch and that would be one less power cord if it does. It's really a nice way around to isolate your control network from the venue Nettwerk.

This Enttech box isn’t the Poe version. I considered changing but I decided to continue with it. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix” 😂😂 definitely is a great way to have a private network and avoid house/festival networks

Great video! How do you know when to swich the timecode source? For example when the DJ is doing a transition where 2 songs are playing at the same time for a while how do you decide where to take the timecode from? Or do you do busking while the transitions?
@CamWhiteLights Жыл бұрын
Thankyou. I might do a more in depth Timecode switching video. But it is fairly simple. Showcontrol allows 2 layers, I have one playing and other is standby with the next song. I switch when suits the song. Timecode tracks just take over each other using LTP priority. Sorry if that doesn’t make complete sense. Video coming soon 😂🥳

Are there any resources you could personally recommend on how to start learning all this hardware? Did you use courses or like learn from a mentor or anything? Is it even possible to learn without owning the hardware yourself?
@CamWhiteLights Жыл бұрын
Honestly most of my learning was done on MA2PC (Free download), also watching lots of Christian Jackson’s & other MA Lighting videos. Not courses or study, just trial and error. Mostly everyone I know learnt without the hardware, costs a lot of $$ to buy. Hope this reply helped.
@Rhys_Official Жыл бұрын
This is really interesting. I'm an LD myself on MA3 (mode 2), all the shows I do are busking only. So its quite interesting to see how timecoded shows are generally done. Do you prefer timecode over busking or? You got my subscription anyway. Keep up the good work. Maybe some day we'll come across each other.
@CamWhiteLights Жыл бұрын
I began only doing busking, but since I’ve been touring I can’t be busking while running Lighting, Video, Cameras & SFX. I do busk occasionally with brand new tracks we are testing, but only a few tracks in the show. Thankyou for the Sub, hope to catch you around someday 🙏😊

question, did you buy your own console, and if you did how long did it take you to save up to buy one. as i want to freelance but I dont know how to get the home to buy a console
@CamWhiteLights5 ай бұрын
Hey, I haven’t bought my own console. I use MA2 onPC +Wysiwyg to program. Only have consoles if I hire or I’m at shows that provide. You definitely don’t need one to learn or tour. I find it’s best to become competent with minimal hardware.

Bro can I grab you on discord call be cool to chat sometime. I'm legit doing this same thing but with ETC EOS . I'm using (MTC) with reaper and loop midi instead of a audio interface . I have Qlab and Resolume doing OSC over a network and have NDI setup with go pros that are TC into my cuestack so I can get certain footage of clips on resolume to trigger. I'm just starting KZbin but will be uploading some videos soon of my rig
