Having been to Costco in the UK and Promo here, I definitely can see the disparity in buying power of promo in comparison to Costco, there are things a lot cheaper in Costco, like the pasta and tinned goods especially. But, promo is obviously geared up for this market so has a lot of local types of food at good prices

total Costco vibes! I've actually never even seen one of these stores in LT (although, never really paid attention) - We are members of Costco AND Sam's - our Costco membership is $60 a year and Sam's is a bit cheaper at $50 a year - Sam's is closer to our house, but Costco is the clear winner with selectoin and price! I think the reason the prices are SO low at the North American stores is the membership price - I mean, we can buy gas at Sam's right now for around $3.07 a gallon where everywhere else is at LEAST $3.58 a gallon! The things that I noticed missing from your Cash and Carry are exactly what you said: no optical dept, no pharmacy, no tire center and no $1.50 hot dog/soda combo (YUM!!) - random question, how much is the hot dog/soda combo in Canada? You know, it's the loss leader here in the USA, so wondering if it's the same in Canada - and for those who DON'T know, the price has been $1.50 since the beginning (I think in the late 80's? early 90's?) for the hot dog and drink , and they lose money on every sale, but the CEO has said year after year that he will NEVER raise the price! :)

I watch a news story about Costco and how they are trying to crack down on membership sharing because that’s actually where they make most of their money… with very little profit on the goods they sell… I can’t remember hot dog prices in Canada… $1.99 maybe? I think it’s slightly more to account for currency exchange

@@LithuaniaExplainedVlog yup! That's very true, and you can feel that it is defferent from, say, 2 years ago - normally, you just flash your card at the entrance, do your shopping and check out - they have self-checkout and you owuld just go and check out as normal ... since about 2 years ago, NOW they actualy want to look at the picture on your card to make sure it's you, do your shopping and at the self checkout, there is like a "security" person who checks each card - slows the check out process down a bit, but they take a GOOD look at your pic. The pics, as you prob know, are low res, tiny, b&w, and many times (in our case) very old, lol - so, dunno if it's actually cost effective, but they do it - totally different at Sam's Club (where there are no pics on the membership cards)

Hi there! I've been looking into buying a vacation/summer house in Lithuania lately, that's also how found your channel as I wanted to learn more about daily life in Lithuania. :) I'd really like to see videos about the process of buying a house in Lithuania, especially in the countryside, e.g. what to expect, electricity, water access, sewage and so on, because often that's not mentioned in the real estate listings, and the legal formalities of purchasing a house/land. And also videos about life in the Lithuanian countryside in general. :) Just as a suggestion in case you're looking for video ideas. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m not sure I will ever get to experience that side of Lithuanian life but if I do, I will definitely discuss it in a video 😃
