nice you did a video on Tijuana, being from San Diego my first trips were in the 50's with my Dad. Coming from a devoured family my Dad would get me for the weekend and we would head to TJ. He would drop me of to play with his friends kids and he would head to the Bar. I didn't know it at the time but my Mom would head to TJ to go swing dancing. I stop at my Mom's always on my way to Mexico, in December. I stoped in TJ to get my Schipperke service dog's health book stamped, a must to fly, and she pulled out a Caesar's card from the 50's with the phone # 5-29-23 and the address 5TH and Main, yes before the street was renamed. On the back of the card is the original recipe for the Caesar salad. How cool is that. At this time I'm at Casa Marcado restaurant in Coatepec. Best Moli around, they even have a Moli Museum. Cheers, from the State of Veracruz....

@@_HolyHell_ 2023 stats: There are four cities in Mexico with higher per capita homicides than Tijuana: Colima, Zamora, Cuidad Obregón, and Zacatecas. But I did state per capita, as those cities are much smaller than Tijuana. When you add all the homicides combined of those four smaller cities, it totals, 2,097. Tijuana alone had 2,070 homicides. Johannesburg South Africa has the most homicides in the world with 2,547, but it’s a city with more than twice the population of Tijuana. But not all Mexico is that deadly. Mexico City has a population of 22 million in the metropolitan area. Its homicide rate in 2022 was 25 per 100,000, but this year it has lowered to only 9 per 100,000 people. Thats lower than many large American cities. The deadliest city in America is New Orleans with 70 homicides per 100,000 residents. That’s higher than Cd Juarez (believe it or not), Acapulco, Cape Town, Chihuahua, and Ensenada. The second deadliest American city is Baltimore with 50 homicides per 100,000 people. And closing this post, here’s a shocker: The Mexican city of Mérida was positioned as the second safest city in all of the Americas and the 30th safest in the world, according to CEOWorld Magazine, which is the result of teamwork to strengthen security throughout Yucatan, maintaining the peace of all Yucatecan families. Merida’s homicide rate is only 2.5 per 100,000…that’s nearing Japan levels. So in closing, Mexico is a country of extremes. May parts highly dangerous and many parts very safe. Sounds like the U.S. to me.

There are a lot of other cities I have visited much less desirable such as St Louis, Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Oakland, Atlanta, New Orleans, Compton, Houston, Miami, Memphis, etc. But I agree with your comment by mentioning one American city, albeit the wrong one…Mexico gets a bad rap, which is uncalled for. Yes, cartel presence turns off people, but Mexico overall is a nice country with nice people. Great food, great weather, great beaches. Mexico City is a world class city. Monterrey is the hub of technology, a very modern city with a high middle class population.
