Tournament Day on the Chickahominy River!

Tournament day on the Chickahominy River in VA! After two days of practice, one productive, one not so much, it's time to put it on the line for the tournament. I chose to launch at a ramp down from where I practiced two days earlier and work my way up towards the back as the tide came out. The day started off slowly as the cooler weather may have had the fish in a negative mood, however as the tide passed halfway out and the sun burned the mist off the water the fish began to get active. As the water fell out the fish moved to predictable current breaks and flats near deeper drops waiting to ambush bait as it was forced out of the shallows. The day did not see the size that I saw two days earlier, but the numbers were there in force! I caught around 20 keepers throughout the day with a few that helped the team overall including the teams largest of the day, an 18.25" river stud! For anyone wondering about the capabilities of the ‪@OldTownCanoeKayak‬ Autopilot 136, look no further as this carried me through the shallowest water you can imagine on my way to the fish.
