Ok so question: Why is everyone using “AWACS Legacy”? I haven’t heard of the character in canon, and if he/she’s not canon, then why do I hear about them a ton in the comments?

@@KateOfFate Simple. "Legacy": Something that endures long past when a person is gone. Their mark on the world. AWACS: Someone that alerts pilots to stuff. AWACS Legacy: Someone telling pilots about those who came before, and what they left for the future generations.

even though Maverick is not on the level of the other aces, he still managed to take down 5 aircraft. all of them in a f-14, and 2 of them 5th generation fighters. not bad at all.

@@marseldagistani1989 It's less about the engines and more about the avionics and design of the aircraft itself, while it has the distinct agility of a 5th generation air dominance fighter like the F-22, and the inclusion of an internal weapons bay, its RCS is considered sub-par to be considered for stealth. Key design flaws include the direct-flow inlets, which do not mask the spinning turbine blades that produce massive RCS frontally, a lacking abundance of RAM (Radar Absorbing Paint, which is standard for U.S stealth aircraft and is included on the J-20 to a similar degree), and the lack of an Indium-Tin Oxide coating on the canopy (It's what gives the F-22 and F-35 canopies their distinct golden color, and even China has seemingly accomplished this with the J-20 while the Su-57 has not). Don't get me wrong, the Su-57 certainly HAS some stealthy characteristics, but it's not quite enough for me personally to consider it a 5th Generation, and more of a 4++ / 4.5th Generation air superiority fighter. I think a good comparison is South Korea's KF-21. Similarly, it has an abundance of stealth-design characteristics (In particular, it looks a lot like a downscaled F-22), but it lacks certain things to make it a 5th gen, instead staying 4.5th gen; from first glance it fits right in with the stealth fighter design club, but it lacks an internal weapons bay, so it must carry all its ordnance externally, bringing its RCS back up if it runs anything other than a 'naked' loadout, or goes Winchester for all external ordnance in the middle of a battle. A smaller note is that the build quality of the Su-57 has been questionable to say the least with some photos circulating around, and some of the compromises made to get Felons made at all has resulted in some truly interesting (and absolutely RCS-compromising) solutions.

@@feston4032 Overall, it’s a pretty fun game. Not as much Special Weapon variety, but you can take multiple with you on a mission. Controls feel smooth and soundtrack is full of bangers. As for bosses, they’re not too bad, but can be tedious at times. If you’ve played AC7, most are like Mihaly, but a little easier. Again, very fun game overall and I highly recommend it.

Even though this is clearly inspired by Ace Combat, Top Gun, and Project Wingman, this song gave me the awesome mental image of Mechs like the VF-1 Valkyrie and the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam doing a high stake dogfight in the skies to the stars beyond.

Considering the VF-1 is explicitly based on the F-14 and the XFA-27 in Ace Combat is very similar to the VF-11 thunderbolt, it really all does come back to Top Gun and the Tomcat.

You go up, one on one, and whoever shoots the other one down first gets a point. This goes until you’ve faced every other pilot. Got it? Good.” [change slide] “Once we’ve got you in a skill bracket, we then move on to standard tournament rules. Win every match and you get your championship title. Then the two champions go head to head for the _ace’s crown._ Hand it over, ‘your highness’” [Monarch hands over the crown, hitman team is laughing quietly] “Whoever wins, gets to keep it for a year, until he next tournament starts.” [change slide] “You can choose any plane model you want, but keep in mind that last year’s champions won in an f-14 against an experimental jet.” _”they modernized it!”_ “Only so much they could do. You still lost to a boomer jet.” “Anyway, after the tournament is over, we still have three days here. We’ll organize some squadron-based aerial games and some sports tournaments. Real or not his story is important for it represents the embodiment of the Ukrainian fighting spirt, its a story they need right now. His story is worthy for the Pantheon of Aces along with Trigger, Talisman, Blaze and Mobius before him. I really love how Ghost of Kyiv and Summer Skies are incorporated into this resulting medley. This is by far my favorite. 2:08 - 3:26 really gave me a good feeling. It reminds me of that time where Sol joined wings with Trigger against a greater threat. Really fantastic it puts a tear in my eye. The transition from Ghost of Kyiv to Trigger's is also very well done. There's a lot more to say... but I won't be able to fit them all in one youtube comment. Well done. If you can make another Tournament of Aces, you should highlight Summer Skies. For me, that is part of Ace Combat.

the brass of victory, the strings of adventure, the vocals of destiny, the bells of our calling, the drums of time, the synthesizers of rising higher, the electric guitar of bitterness, that's what I think of each instrument when I hear them be played, it is an endless battle, with limitless victories, such as the same for humanity, in every world, both in the real, and in the mind, there are battles we all face, and this theme, represents that thrill of overcoming so many. Beautiful, with a slight tiredness in the end, for it was a battle well fought.
