Tournament Practice On A Tough Lake (Lake Cooley)

Practicing for my 2nd tournament of the year up at lake cooley in Lyman South Carolina. This isn’t the best fishery from my experience out at this lake, so getting some practice and time on the water is a must.

Hey man great video, came over from Travis does kayak fishing, hope you did well at the tournament! One thing I’ve learned since I moved here to SC is the fishing is tuff and everywhere seems to have hardly no bank access or really pressured. Just went out and bought a new kayak a couple weeks ago so hopefully that helps me find some new spots to try lol.. Keep up the great work and tight lines!

I thought they fought hard for their sizes too. The 14 incher I got felt like a 2 lb'er. I am looking forward to seeing how you got the event fish. Oh and I struggle with size and quantity on all these lakes we do in UKA but I like the struggle for the experience you gain.

Yea they fought hard for sure and they are some healthy fish! An 100% worth struggling for the experience. It makes us better anglers in the long run!

Lake Cooley has always been a hard lake to fish. Once you find the bait fish on your fish finder. And the bass feeding. Stay with them. Those bass there are smart and pressured. Good luck and have confidence.

You got this! If you cast it, they will come! Lol Big lake, lots of water to cover. Don’t know if your trying any spinner baits, always works for me as a last resort. Good luck. And I’m liking the new location of the GoPro

I see why you don’t like Cooley. When it gets a lot warmer it gets good out there. I slayed them last year, the tournament really surprised me. Only time it’s been that tough for me was in the fall. Good job getting a limit

@@fishingwithflem when I have done good it’s a bright sunny day and hot as hell. Fish shade lines with a frog, skip it under overhangs. I caught tons, and often would catch a few 18-20 inchers. I was so upset when I didn’t get a limit because I was convinced I’d get atleast 50 inches. I had honestly thought that the winners were going to have close to 60. That lake has a lot of good fish in it. Maybe before the summer is out we can get out there and get on them.

@@fishingwithflem yeah that lake was in a funk. It was so weird to have a day that sets up perfect for moving baits. Windy, overcast and it rained and they were just not biting. Pretty much any other lake I’ve been too those are the best days. Goes to show fish don’t have rules 😂
