Colombia has something that will please most travelers, from sandy beaches of the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, to the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforests. Its heritage reflects the culture of its indigenous peoples as well as the Spanish who began settling here in the early 15th century. A couple of decades or so ago, Colombia was not on the tourist map because it was not a safe place to visit. However, the government has worked hard to change that image, making it safer for travelers to enjoy the many features Colombia offers. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Colombia:

I've been to all ten big south America countries and many others around the world. Colombia is somewhere I really enjoyed. I travel to these countries for a month or more usually so countries with many different and diverse things to see are my favorite and Colombia has that. From the highlands wonderful town of solento and its jurassic park like area with the tallest palm trees in the world, to cartagena and medellin with the amazing art painted everywhere. The food is very good and the most American anywhere but America lol. But what makes Colombia so cool to go to is the wonderful people that are so nice and helpful.

@@arsinoeegypticum8894I would recommend go to San Andrés Island, Cartagena & Medellín as they are all safesty cities but if it was me I definitely won’t be travel in South America on my own. I’m Colombian living in UK & to be honest I’d travel in company specially there.

I’d rather travel farther south, where it’s hot and humid all year in South America. The chilly climates of Greenland and Canada are great for some people, but just don’t appeal to me.

Great video and the places are all amazing. There are many more places not included in this list. For example, Cano Cristales is the most beautiful river in the world. It is as if a rainbow fell on this river. Another place absolutely beautiful is the 3 step water fall or Windows of Tisquizoque. The water comes out of a huge cave and falls in 3 different waterfalls. Another place is Parque Chiribiquete where over 75,000 drawings were found recently. This park also has Tepuis which are mountains covered in jungle. Another place is El Retiro, a small town about 1 hour from Medellin. It has the best weather, the town is beautiful and it has two rivers running thru it. One more is the Caverna de los Guacharos. Guacharos is a bird that is also half bat. It is a bird because it has feathers. It is also a bat because it lives in dark caves and comes out at night to hunt and returns before sunrise. Finally dont forget to visit los Llanos Orientales. A huge are that is completely flat with huge rivers. Colombia is magic indeed.
