Exactly Sir, Koraput alone has more potential as a terrific destination than Daringbadi, the hills, the waterfalls, the plains, the roads are more scenic. Koraput is not that explored by Bengalis, the way is Daringbadi when in reality Koraput is a bigger value for money as per everything a tourist destination can have

Update 24th November 2024. There are places that looks awesome when you want to post videos, status updates and create reels. However the ground realities are completely different. Deomali would be one of those places. To start with the location, which is and will be the only postive, cause its not man made. Rest is all literally down hill. Let's start with the accommodation. I had the misfortune of booking two rooms for 3 days. Spent a whopping 37000+. Drove all the way from Kolkata where they forced me to pay the 100/- entry despite showing them the receipt for the cottage booking. Thankfully everytime went in and out of the gate, they didn't charge for each day. Now coming to the accommodation. The place is already falling apart. Hard to believe that it was just opened in August this year. Those beautiful led light are already dangling, door panels has huge gaps, where you can actually see into the room from the path way, so you can imagine the cold wind blowing through the gaps. It was cold and the wind is non stop. The geyser provided is a size of a Thermo flask. You won't be able to fill a quarter bucket with hot water so taking a bath is a task. I don't usually watch TV, they do have TVs with no connection. Cracks appearing on the walls and bathroom fittings coming off are the usual. Funny thing, there have 6 wooden chairs in two bedroom and no wardrobe or a mirror. What am I to conduct a meeting here? The whole property is strewn with broken tiles nails, as construction is still going on, so be careful if you have kids who run around. Coming to the food. I wasn't sure which is more tough to eat, the chicken, the chapati or my chappal. Same menu in the evening. Thankfully they did serve the dinner at our rooms. Lunch starts at 2, for god know what reason. The food is just bla d And service is something that is out of the question. And this is nit just me. At one time there were a kind of anger amongst the boarders and couple of them called up the DFO to complain. While leaving the security guard had the audacity to ask have you paid the manager and how much have you paid. The whole thing is just because there is no one from the management to guide them. The only two people servicing all 10 rooms are always busy(one shown here serving lunch) Now this is within the premises of the eco cottage. You go out to explore, the road is hell bumpy not maintained at all. Campers have littered the place with plastics broken beer bottles and more plastics. If you even stray from the tarmac, keep your eyes peeled to the ground. Avoid this place on weekends all together. The rowdy content just spoils the ambience. The road from Putsil to Deomali is still under construction so dont attempt any heroics. You are likely to get stuck. And finally if you're driving to deomali, avoid the route via Rayagada, its in bad shape with millions speed breakers,stick to the highway till Vizianagaram and continue via Salur. And don't blindly take the short cut via Kotya as google map suggests. Stick to the main road till Kundali and then take the road to deomali. Better option to stay is the OFDC Pine resort in Koraput, visit deomali and go back. I also completed Satiguda on this trip. Around 150 kms from Deomali, was a much better place than Deomali.

Thanks for the updated review It is really disappointing if the property is in such a bad condition with in a few months from it’s opening I would like to visit satiguda very soon

@TourPlannerBlog If you are booking OFDC Satiguda, make sure you book the cottages that's around 3200/-. It gives you a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding hills. Again avoid weekends. The boat ride for 30 mins is complimentary
