Tousled Updo Hair Tutorial With Violette | Jen Atkin

It was so exciting to have THE 'effortless French girl' + Estee Lauder global director Violette in my studio! We recreated the tousled updo hairstyle I did for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the CFDAs last year and played around with a few different Dyson Airwrap attachments. Yesss I loved it 😍 for the white backround you could take like a vintage frame and frame a white or what ever colour you want sheet. And put it behind your model on a easel for example it looks like an actual art piece 🖼 just an idea ;) or you put a vintage mirror in a angle so we can also see what you do... but thats gonna be more tricky I think..haha just an idea. When I saw that You are looking for an assistant I was so exited but coming from Switzerland I was quickly pissed 😂🤓 anyway Love your work

YOU ARE AWESOME!!! The BEST tutorial out there. I would only reccomend maybe more shooting from behind because you say "you grab this or that" & we can't actually see what "this or that" is. But usually I end up so confused listening but totally got what you were saying. Off to play with myself....you know what I mean.

Does dyson have any plans to release any new attachments? I’m obsessed with my airwrap and my hair has never been healthier or shinier. I have naturally very curly hair and the flat brush is a lifesaver to dry and style at the same time. But the ends of my hair flip up and it drives me insane. I need a brush that grips my ends better for a flat blowout. The round brush doesn’t work either. Help!!!!!

So good. oh I just can't even go there with trying to explain! Jen, so would you say that backcombing is not so damaging to our hair as we have been told? I live for the sixties Brigette B bangs and volume but I have similar hair (fine/slight curl but mainly around face like baby hairs or bottom layers underneath!! but a lot of it) is back-combing going to be OK as long as it's done with the right comb and technique??Thanks so much xoxo
