Going from the Pestera Hotel to the Ialomita cave and monastery, The Ialomita cave is said to be a sacred place, known for more than 2 millenniums as Zalmoxis' cave (Zalmoxis was a dacian who, due to his virtues, was later venerated as a god).
Nowadays, the entrance to the cave is guarded by a monastery, built in the 1990's
