What a beautiful puzzle! The flow of logic is gorgeous!!

Great puzzle and a perfect challenge. Kudos to me for starting it on my own and approaching it correctly until the going got rough. The video got me back on track, and I was able to (mostly) finish it on my own. Thank you!

This one ended up a lot more challenging for me than usual. I found the partial roping, but got very stuck and had to pause and watch the video until you found the trick with the middle column in boxes 4 and 6 eliminating some of the more extreme possibilities. With that bit of insight, I was able to make some more progress without needing any further hints My time, with an asterisk for getting assistance, was 36:54, solver number 218. And as usual, I'm watching the rest of the video now to see what else I missed.

I LOVE Thermo Sudokus, it's my favourite variant of all time. This one was quite clever, but i was experienced enough to be able to make the critical deductions pretty fast. Well done MQ-9 Reaper2

With the right construction they can be phenomenal!

Brilliant solve Sleuth! I attempted, looked, stared and didn’t have a clue how to progress. Even watching you solve, I dont think I could have matched the logic. Awesome puzzle and video!

Thank you Jon! I think if it wasn’t for cascade I probably couldn’t have solved.

@0:40 and so I enjoy Slueth's analysis of his thumbnail. "Clowns in the castle?" Where do you come up with this? That's great! There are vampires in that castle (yeah, and Dracula). Great, Slueth. (Slueth in the drawing is headed into that "dark and brooding" woods and castle. 😂(

😆, based on the comments thus far, definitely not clowns and party balloons in that tower!

I would say knowing how the cascade puzzle works is not 1 star. I enjoyed the puzzle after getting that hint from Sleuth. Thanks Sleuth.

I did something wrong in boxes 369. I tought (for some reason) that the R6C7 should be the same as R9C9, so it went wrong after a while. I comeback but did not think what to do, the most simple thing, that you did at 11:20.... 😬 So I needed to watch your solve till this point to find out the obvious... hehehe Anyway, after that I was able to finish! Thanks for the solve 😀

curious to see how you deal with the semi-roping (is that actually a term ?). roping is not something a beginner will know. using it at all is only for intermediate solvers and above. applying it instantly, as you did, puts this puzzle in the "experts only" category (almost). but applying it instantly when the full pattern is not present is definitely something only an expert will do.

Looking at the right hand side the “partial” roping really wasn’t that helpful. Purely geometry tricks around the thermos in the end 😊

I'd say it's about 2 stars.

Nope, big fat fail for me today. Spent half an hour and never found the break in. Going to watch and see how you did it.

It’s a tough puzzle to crack really comes down to geometry tricks with thermos

and no, there's nothing "easy" about this puzzle. beginners beware. the dark tower is littered with the bones of those who did not heed this advice. with additional solves, the difficulty rating has risen to 2, which is fair. incidentally, the MQ-9 is one of those BIG honking UAVs, armed with Hellfire and such.
