That was my first attempt to get on 10GHz RX for QO-100. I did reseal it, as it's mounted outside. I used a cheap DIL type 25MHz XO in my living room as my 25MHz source. I, used a 3dB splitter, too. Nice and easy, and I had one. With the LNB alone (no dish) I have heard local beacons up to 36km away. The local 10GHz beacon OZ7IGY at about 26km is behind a hill, and it's lways audible, possibly some scatter, or reflection from high voltage masts.

I should not have any problem picking up my transmitter from the basement window then!

Nice setup. It's working fine for me on Rsp1a. So beautiful work 73 F4LPM

Although I’ve done similar with two different LNB’s, this really reinforced my work. Very good info however wondering why you used 3db spiltter, and the associated losses, instead of just using a very cheap DC injector (Bias Tee about $5)? In any event, enjoyed very much and look forward to future videos.

Reason is simple, I did not have a Bias Tee for 75 Ohm F type connectors!

@@VE2ZAZ Made a quick and easy Type F to SMA adapter for just that type of situation. Takes about 5 min!
