Real ATC here. 1. Set priorities, generally speaking, aircraft in the sky are more important than aircraft on the ground (except for an emergency on the ground obviously). So deconflict anything in the sky and then go to ground. 2. Plan ahead, if you have an arrival and a departure that you notice will use the same taxi route, try to either change the route of one of them, or hold one of them in position somewhere before they meet nose to nose. 3. Be proactive. If you have the ability to do something right then and there and it won't conflict with any other traffic, knock it out because you will more then likely forget about things when you get busy. 4. Don't get glued to your screens. You should always be scanning your airport. In laymans terms...look out your windows 5. Physically locate an aircraft before speaking to it. You won't believe just how much this simple tip can help you see the big picture of what you're doing

Excellent. Even the music was unobtrusive and had lots of variety. Just to clarify - 'cleared for immediate takeoff' isn't so much an urgency concept. If the a/c is on the taxiway and you give them 'cleared for immediate takeoff' they will roll onto the runway and pretty much roll into takeoff mode; 'cleared for takeoff' under the same circumstances they will roll onto the runway, noticeably pause, and then roll for takeoff. I believe it's mostly a courtesy to the pilot to help get them on their way by using the 'immediate' option, if that works for you. If you're having to urge them on to immediately take off with speed - not good. Your example with 'line up and wait' was well chosen. From there you can go to 'cleared for takeoff' when you see fit.

Great video! Just a heads up, we say METAR as "mee-tar"

Interesting. I'm up in Canada and I've only ever heard people up here say it like he said it, never "mee-tar". Maybe that's a US/Can difference.

Can you play this game without voice recognition? i also don't enjoy typing commands into a box. Would i be able to click on a plane and assign a command from a drop down menu ?
@CUfkesАй бұрын
yes. i use a txt file with pre filled commands and use pause all the time.
@fredelliott69852 ай бұрын
You mention vectoring. What is that about? Also, when I send a plane to departure at takeoff if I use the frequency or say good morning, evening day it will say negative but if I say only contact departure it goes just fine
@razorsharpshark2 ай бұрын
So vectoring is the process of me giving instructions for turning an aircraft, usually done to get them on the final approach course or after a missed approached.
