Towing Cement Truck with the Quick swap - Overweight??

I drive a 379 Peterbilt Quick swap fitted with an ISX Cummins and 18 speed.
Straight pipe, pre emissions, the best way to roll!

We put all the drive shafts back in. Which is weird but ya we do out here. Back in Manitoba we didn’t

For liability, I’d rather the preferred shop or tech do that. Don’t want to hear about a driveshaft issue 2 months later and they say I installed it but fail to mention the clutch dump fully loaded😂

Yup I drove around but they had cars and trucks parked along the building with a very narrow dirt road and a 5-8’ drop to a ravine on the other side lol was fun to get out of there especially by the dealership packed with cars😳😳

Why you need to disconect the shaft when you towing a truck? Good video

Because the driveline is connected to the back of the transmission, A it puts strain on the gears and B since the engine isn’t running the transmission fluid isn’t being dispersed evenly or in the proper amount causing the gears to run almost as if it was dry do to the excess friction boiling off the fluid and causing severe wear to the transmission internals

Friendly tip bud instead of the big hammer on the ears of the shaft like you were doing get you a mini and smack the bearing caps about 3 times each and they’ll come right out

No problem it’s just like a winch out ya go where it’s stuck either the bearing caps or the small 3/8 ones if it’s really stuck hit the rear end yoke it’ll break free all the rust and stuck grease and crud

You had to disconnect the driveshaft to complete the towing? How many guys would do that? You should be making good money at this, I am sure the owner is as a charge for this would be....$2k - $2.5k is my guess.

9 cars out of 10 dont mind waiting for trucks blocking traffic. And if they do F em. Without trucks they wouldnt have a house to live or food to eat or a car to drive. That's why I NEVER worry bout blocking traffic if need be.

My DTU Freightliner is about 325 wb. I'd be really nervous about towing a cement truck like that.😮

Can the tow unit come off the truck? Or is it more of a permanent attachment?

Yes it is removable. “Quick swap” meaning it can quickly be swapped on and off. Thanks for watching!
