There is a multi player mod for derail valley and it actually helps a lot especially when driving steam.

2:22:32 why every single plaier, not fully unaware of the Diselechanical hehicles, haven't took a little care on knowing the fact, you Can't change Gears, when Trottle is on? it is not the fact rhat it bothers me man.. you a bteaking your own vehicles! remeber to alwats kill the trittle before changing gears man! and one personal incodent a long while ago before the update, when you go down on a slope, and the gearbox is not that hight set, but the RPM's are going faster than they should, with the teottle off, quickly chamge gears to a much higher levels, or the engine, or gearboc, is jist going to explode, amd bie bie train...
