Towing the Spyder to Utah

I just hauled my 2022 900cc can-am ryker with a uhaul trailer. The front end of the ryker is 5 feet wide and the only uhaul trailer that I could use was the enclosed 6x12. At uhaul they had 2 different versions, 1 with the door rolling up which has an opening of 5 feet 1 inch and the other with the doors swinging out "the newer version 6x12" with the door opening being 5 foot 4 inches. The enclosed trailer does not come with a ramp so I had to build my own by purchasing metal ramp pieces from Amazon and going to Lowes and purchased two 8x2 8feet and one 12x2 8feet boards. Placed a brace board under the ramps in the middle to prevent flexing and breaking. This worked just fine, also ratchet strapped the front wheels down at the front of the enclosed trailer. No issues, hope this helps others with trying to find a solution to haul your can-am ryker.

Show us how you tie the Spyder down if you don't mind. I'm interested on pulling my Spyder on a trip this year too, good thing is I have a truck and the trailer size isn't an issue.

I never did rent one. I am purchasing one. Latest Video I did 2 days ago. It will be good for either trike, Goldwing or Spyder. Could not find a single axle one to rent that was wide enough. The one I ma getting is 6.4x10.

@@judyvretenar7453 Find one to rent that is at least 5.5 inches wide. Your Spyder will fit in that. I could not find one rentable. I was going to rent back then to just haul it for trips. My wife does not want to do the 3000 mile trips on the trike anymore.

@@judyvretenar7453 Yes, I did not either. I needed on to move in August and then will use it to take on trips and put the Spyder or the Goldwing and to ride when we get to where we are going. Well I found one at Home Depot. But tires were so bad, no way would I rent it.

Don't be fooled like myself that tandem axle 6x12 trailer only has a 5 foot gate to narrow for our spyders lesson learned by me, luckily I noticed just as.i was jist leaving u haul

You’re were measuring wrong brother. I’m sure you know now but the proper way to measure is from the back/ramp because that’s were you enter from. Those duellys from uhaul are 6x12 but the actual ramp is only 4ft 9inches

Know, I was measuring to see if either trike would fit. I know the wheel base of each Trike. Wide not length. Neither would fit.

Are you getting more used to the RT? I have an 08 Wing airbag and I'm on the fence about whether to try a cheaper GW trike to see if I like it or going on and getting a 20 Spyder RT Limited.

I love the 2020 RT, I would do it. It is so much smoother to ride than the Goldwing Trike. I noticed how there is no heat on my legs and feet on the Spyder, but much hotter on the wing from the radiators for sure.
