Towing with a Mazda CX-5 Turbo | Performance Review & Tips

I’m from Quebec as well. I bought a camper; I cannot take what I see on Camper as far as Gross Vehicle weight is (3200lbs)concerned. It’s giving me GVWR. And I compare that with my Mazda CX-5 GS FWD 6 speed manual gear box. I haven’t had any issues yet; but I think I will refrain to making long trips with it; because I have a feeling; I’m going to wear out my tires or my brakes. I guess I have to learn the hard way. In Australia the Akerea which I believe is the CX-5 that you have is rated at twice that towing capacity which is 2 ton.

You are right. Same with Europe. But here in North America manufacturers are afraid of liability, so they rate them lower.

how has the cx5 been? have u done any oil changes since then? or any problems after adding oil after the low oil level light

Love the CX-5. It has its quirks, but overall impressed after 50K km. BC is lovely but expensive, only a couple fires so far. Cheers!
