"Town" Beta Track Theme from Mario Kart 64 (Super Mario Kart R Beta MAIN TITLE Theme) EXTENDED

This theme is a revamp of the old theme from the game "Super Mario Kart R". This game later became what we all know as Mario Kart 64.
There are lots of unused assets in the game and recently a huge leak came to light showcasing a Beta Track simply called "Town". Thanks to the work of a KZbin channel called OverKart 64 they have been able to revive and revise the track into the playable version that you can find over on their KZbin channel here: / @overkart64
This extended version-themed video, also show other unused assets such as the beta character, Magikoopa, who was originally going to be playable instead of DK who took over the slot come the final build of Mario Kart 64.

This isn't the actual theme for the track. It was a loose file just called "Town" hidden away in the game files. I don't remember how I got it or where. The track is 1 : 19, a slower and more mellow track that I would argue doesn't fit the game very well. That, coupled with the awkward and clustered track layout, is most likely why the track was scrapped.

The music itself is _fine_, but I think the title screen theme used in the final version was the better choice. More importantly though, I don’t think this track really fits the atmosphere of Town. I would’ve preferred a custom arrangement more in the spirit of Daisy Hills or Maple Treeway.

Is the town theme a Coustom theme or the actual song and is the course it’s self a recreation of what it would look like or is it the real course?

So the theme is not what the Town theme was going to be, instead the Overkart64 team who revived this track 1:1 used the Beta Main theme of Mario Kart 64 to use for the theme of the track, if that makes sense haha The track itself is the real deal as far as I know. If you look at the description there's a link to the Overkart64 channel with more info there
