Town of Salem: 5 Reasons why Town should hang/kill the Survivor

Okay you knew it had to happen sometime. Welcome to why as a Town member you should do what you can to rid you and your friends of the Survivor role. Trust me they aren't your friend and they certainly aren't neutral. Survivors hurt town believe it :)

IMO killing a known survivor is one of the douchebag moves you could do in ToS. I can somewhat understand it in ranked where people are tryharding for their ELO but in custom if someone kills a known survivor I´ll kill them if I can.

Survivor should just be removed because everyone kills them so there is no point in being a survivor now because of it.

honestly a lot of what you said is skewed because you don't like the survivor. Survivor's main goal is just to finish the game as fast as they can before they run out of bulletproof vests. The mafia is more commonly put on trial because of invests and survivor almost always votes guilty so it will help town. another thing is that if the survivor is immune to the mafia's attack they will put the surv on trial thinking its an sk or arso. if the survivor is voted guilty and revealed as survivor then the mafia will be revealed.

***** While it's true im Biased against survivor and I'm well aware there are arguements for not hanging the survivor I made this with the intention of making genuine points. If my attitude towards the survivor gets in the way of this im sorry but my Friend Skimm made a video on why the survivor should be kept alive if you would like to check it out on his channel.

***** Killing amnesiac before they choose to remember who they are is bad because you know who they are so when it says what the amnesiac has remembered to be if its good then its beneficial but if its bad then you know who they are so just lynch them or execute them. Whenever i'm town and get jailed I always claim SK because in their minds if they execute me they killed SK. But if they don't then they would die. So its a major dick move but its fun because fuck them they shouldn't of jailed me now half of their role is useless.

Kubilay ONUR Mafia,Serial killer and especially arsonist have the capacity to kill the survivor. So Survivor always takes the side of killers to protect themself.

That s why you should reveal as survivor so you can hide your vests for the late game This means late game immunity and voting power So you can choose town too :)

You can't claim surv while there's someone else claiming surv and if WW believes people will investigate the surv he will pounce to kill the invests that are visiting you :)

Number 1-Uh i usually get attacked as a survivor... Number 2-I abstain to everything as a survivor Number 3-Ok that's true. Number 4-I'm never afk or lazy as a survivor... Number 5-Ok that's true, but you need to remember the guy claiming survivor could actually be survivor! 1 and a half reason, gj magna.

Whenever I play Survivor, I don't vote on ANYTHING unless there is a stalemate at the end of the game, and in that situation, I pick the person who's been less of a d**k to me. No one likes being a Survivor, so I think it's wrong to be a jerk to them and kill them on sight. 9/10 times, if I claim surv, say I will never vote, remind at the start of each day the previous two things, and joke around with the town, I live and whoever deserves to win, wins. There's sometimes that one Survivor hater who'll work up the town to kill you, though. Basically, don't kill Surv off the bat. No one likes playing it, and you'd want to win the game if you were them, too.

Or you could have a Jailor strong-arm you into changing. When I'm a real Amnesiac, I've had Jailors say, "Become (Invest/Doctor name here) or I'll kill you." So if you are a Survivor who can't change, you'll get killed.

Thats very true.I honestly dislike both roles.Now that they are bad addiotions to the game.I just dont like playing as them.Bc Survivord always die,and Amnesiacs often have to come out as amnes then cant choose a fun role.So they are forced to be town,adn the mafia ends up knowing their exact role and then kills them right off the bat

+Xecium Games That was my entire Amnesiac strategy around the time this video was made. Two or three weeks later, the game decided to ruin the strategy, making it even more difficult to win as Amnesiac than it already was. Needless to say, I still don't have an Amnesiac win.

Here is the wonderful story of a wonderful Survivor that helped the Town. (There wasnt that much Town that time.) The Survivor claimed it day one, and I was Jailor. We whisper-chatted everyday because I was bored. I'd say something like "how was your night" and they would reply something like "im alive so im good!" Basically we were good whisper buddies. Somehow I managed to live to the end which is...AWESOME BECAUSE I WAS JAILOR! It was down to me, Survivor, and some evil role i forgot. I whispered and asked "please dont lynch me im jailor!" they said "okay!" And we hung the evil role :D That Survivor was really nice they even said sorry to the evil role. moral of the story: Make friends with the survivor XD I guess this is probably a pretty rare chance, but it was AWESOME. Magna what do you think? wow this is the longest comment ive ever written.

I do understand it's become a bit of a joke, but since you tried to defend the logic.. XD I think it's a tad unfair. Whether or not I kill survivors is situational. If there's a survivor or neutral benign on the list I leave them alone for the time being unless they're annoying or detrimental to my team. When I play survivor, I usually don't claim right away anymore. When I do, I tell them that won't block votes but I also won't initiate them or be loud-mouthed. They used to let me live more than they do lately, but it still works sometimes. I make it clear that I'll only side with someone when the other has no chance anymore. I take it a bit personally because I had a streak where I kept getting survivor all the time so I know the pain all too well... :P

I definitely agree with this. Every time I've been with a survivor and a non-townie role, they fudgin' pick the non-townie role! ALWAYS! And they give reasons like this: "Arso barely wins." ,"WW barely wins." and "I prefer Mafia."

When I'm a deciding Survivor, I don't base it off of the role but the person. If you were a jerk to me at the start of the game and tried to get me hung, I'm not going to side with you no matter what you are. If you were being funny and making jokes or really led your group in a good way, I'm going to take your side. Or if you're a killing role who left funny kill notes. I love funny kill notes.

As someone that plays All Any primarily (yes, THAT mode), I am NOT one of those Townies that lets Survivors and "Survivors" get off easy. If they claim out in the open early game (ESPECIALLY with "I won't side with anyone or can side with anyone" which tells me right off the bat they're a potential threat/dead weight), I'll execute/shoot ASAP. I once had a game as Jailor where I executed TWO such out in the open day 1 claims, both were Survivor, and later my last execute got me a Disguiser (and Flawless Executioner!) and won us the game. Some Townies were actually pissed I went after them "Because you should save executes for other roles" (after all, they are potential THREATS and not Town), and even said I should be raped (for doing what I was supposed to; killing the NON-Town, not joking!) while the Survivors kicked and screamed in dead chat ALL game while I and the Town lived. It was a very satisfying game :D. EDIT: And I even got reported too! For killing Survivors as JAILOR!!!!!!!! :P

I'm a survivor and I'm a town friendly guy. I usually ALWAYS abstain because jester or something, The only reason why I join mafia is because if mafia has the majority then, I'll join them but I'll feel guilty for joining mafia. I'm a nice kind of survivor ;-;.

Actually found a fairly easy survivor strategy that keeps you benign and only really helps whoever already has majority. 1. Claim Surv Day 1. 2. Don't vest unless you feel threatened. 3. On day 2 reveal this strategy: "As survivor I will not vote unless only one vote is needed for trial, i will never vote guilty/inno. This keeps me benign and helps who already has majority, town or not." 4. Do that. I've won 100% more survivor games this way.

i dont think people realize that if they lynch the survivor, it is a lynch wasted, that lynch could have been used on a witch, werewolf, sk, literally anything that would have been productive, rather than just saying "oh hey you're the survivor? Cool story bro. dead." The fact that the survivor almost NEVER wins is pretty heart wrenching for me. I personally quite like the survivor role, it's the true neutral alignment.

I know this is an old video, but when I get Survivor, I go with who has the power, siding with them as the game progresses. I also value the smarter players. I have seen a few games where it costs one side the game for killing the Survivor.
