townew smart trashcan - full walkthrough [Xiaomify]

FINALLY! My video about the Townew Smart Trashbin, that is found in the Xiaomi Youpin store. How good is it really?? Let's go find out!

The Townew smart trashcan is more than just a trashbin with a motion sensor and motorized opening lid. It has a lot more features including automatically replacing the trash bags. I got to say; it's pretty crazy the first time you see that happening!
Once the bag is full you can press the button on the front of the trashcan for about 3 seconds and it will actually seal the trash bag and open up the top for you to take it out. Once taken out it will even place in a new trash bag which is being sucked nicely into place using the internal fan. It also has a 'overload detection' which notices that the lid can't close. When it's overloaded and you replace the bag it will open up the whole top compartment when sealing up the bag so it can actually all fit in there, it's really rather bizarre!
The Townew trashcan has a 2000 mAh battery, which (in my case) lasts for about 4 weeks before it needs to be recharged. It comes loaded with a cartridge of 25-28 trash bags. These refill cartridges are being sold in packs of 6 refills, which is good for about 150 - 168 trash bags.
I was really impressed with this smart trash bin. It's much more capable than I thought it would be, and it looks pretty good as well.

The only thing this is missing is a way to compress the contents, automatically with just enough pressure to collapse a milk carton, to save bags. But I guess that would make the system to complicated(perhaps an idea for a future version). For $40 this is something I would be interested in, but with the sellers tax doubling the price this will only be for me if it is launched in the European stores.

U better import 10 6packs from china and x fingers they're notkot enviromentally friendly, as then they will decompose by themself within about 2-3years (i had a few at the rear of my trash palstic bags tube that was just flakes lol)

I just got it after seeing this video a few days ago. I expected it to be smaller inside because of the huge plastic frame on top, but it was a fairly comfortable size for me. It's really convenient. I still wish they had for example a taller one that could take both the old cartridge and maybe even a extended cartridge. I hope it catches on. I also feel like such a piece of shit because most of my friends live a simple life meanwhile I'm here optimizing my trash.

Live in a 3rd world country here, spent my life eating instant noodle but oh my i think this is perfectly fine! Sanitary is important for everyone and holy shjt keeping room clean could become a tall order it often happened to me myself that changing the trashbag is such a pain that the content keeps piling up outside. As long as you used it frequently i think its not wasted. I want one too in the future!

I saw the trash can before but I have another question: Even if it has a battery, it doesnt need to be at a power source allt the time, but it doesnt cause a problem when it is constantly at one. Am I right?

Janimi unlike other trash cans that takes 4 D battery....this is rechargeable.....which is good because it probably uses more power....and if you want to keep it plug in that's OK too...

Jonathan Koay I know your comment is sent a while ago, but have you tried turning it off before placing it in the cabinet and then turning it on while it’s already under the sink? It might fool the sensor to believe that there is nothing over it.

the light inside is uv in order to kill bacteria and smells (rumors say). as for the prices... maybe it's better that you don't mention them at all because they are nowhere near to what your audience (us) can actually buy them for. the web price for this bin is 80 euros + shipping + the import taxes. so.. it's actually near 110-120 euros for that bin which is crazy. i don't understand how Xiaomi Youpin store sells it for 39 euros and gearbest, banggood, aliexpress... sell them for 80.

I counted the bags that came with it.....15 bags! Also I ordered a box from Gearbest 6 weeks ago and they still haven't shipped them. BE SURE TO ORDER A COUPLE OF BOXES BECAUSE you never know how long you will have to wait..... especially with some companies.

@@TingelTangelTo0om Definitely.....6 refill cartridges ( each last about a month) are about 6 to 7 U.S dollars or about $42 per box which has six cartridges. So I step on cans....recycle the plastic bottles, and use rubber bands tie anything that would expand when tossed into it like rolled up grocery bags.....etc etc....so i can usually make a cartridge last a month....or more.

Everything is good, One only problem is creating waste plastic with replacement , Xiaomi should plan for recycling or collecting the plastic caps (which contains trash backs) from the customers for reuse or recycle.

Basically if someone goes near by it it will open automatically 😂 LoL... If a toddler is playing near it than it would open so that the baby goes inside and it will automatically detect overload and the baby would be packed inside the bag as a trash 😳
