But just know it's not how it used to be when I started I never had a CDL for twenty years it was not needed hell you can still drive without one if u know how to get around dot and the CMCA and all the new laws they have stuck into this bessiness. I can't believe all the horse manure and regulation they have and almost everyone abided by them. Don't get me wrong I'm not a lawless person but the regs are just choking everyone out you all are commended for sticking with it shit I drive a pickup and trailer to haul hay from a to b and it cost me almost1. A buck twenty five a mile just in fuel no maintenance and I'll tell yea with what I'm hauling it going to cost brake pads trans maintenance and tires it's hard on a pickup to top it all off even running a day cab it would not be any cheaper the mileage is the same pulling weight the mpg goes right down to about 6 no matter how u drive having fun is more important and enjoying what u do.

Never happens right? LOL...I LOVED that you paid your driver per mile no matter what. I agree, I feel it's the right thing to do and jw if that is still the case today for you as the business owner? (Obv I'm looking eventually to not be on the road and for as much as I'd enjoy the extra cash, paying whoever I hire WELL is important to me. Reap whatchya sow kinda thing.
