A word of advice from a snowy New Englander, get a big bag of kitty litter carry it in your trunk or bed of your truck for weight so you don't fish tale, and also it's good to use in case you get stuck you can use kitty litter to give your tires traction to get out of the snow. Edit --- you got more snow than we did in Vermont.
@urbo42Күн бұрын
Kitty litter is basically clay. Put clay beneath spinning hot tires and you produce a lubricating substance, a slippery mess. If it doesn't work instantly, kitty litter is now kitty goo. Sand has grit, and doesn't do that. So keep the kitty litter for your little furry friends who are waiting for you to return with their treats.

So what you're saying is no used cat litter.😂😂😂😂. Just fooling around buddy.

I used to drive on the snow and ice in Wisconsin on worn out tires. Lots of slipping and sliding. Carry bags of sand, dirt, gravel, cat litter, whatever you have to throw under the tires if you get stuck. Bring your friends or family members along to add extra weight and to push your car out of whatever. Now they have tire socks. They’re easy to put on.
@louiswestfall96222 күн бұрын
Man that guy in the white suv had very little tread on his front left tire. Summer tires are bad enough in snow but almost bald tires are a hazard to everyone on the road.
@ed9092 күн бұрын
Yup! Noticed that myself. Spend a lot of money on a car like that and then drive around on crappy tires. But hey, maybe insurance and towing charge are really really cheap down there.
@louiswestfall96222 күн бұрын
@ Exactly, new all season tires would be a lot cheaper and more convenient than dealing with insurance and the associated premium hike. Where I live dedicated snow tires are a must for six months of the year.

Wouldn't the engine brake be useful 8n the snow because it will gradually slow you down instead of press brakes. Less chance to lock up?

I'm 54 & grew up there & know these guys. I just lost everything during Hurricane Beryl & moved to Colorado, big snow here & -8° Everyone down runs all season or A/T's. This rarely happens down there near the beach in Brazoria County & when it does, it's only a day or 2 of bad conditions.
