I precise that this is just my opinion, but i play Am-Am7(7th on the very last note of the chord) G/C E-E7 on the verse and pre chorus, then one Am G/C D7 F7 E7 and one Am G/C D7 C#7-C7 E7 (just passing on the chords like an ending but go back to Am) repeated twice for the chorus. Ending is for me just repeating the 1st phrase of chorus... BUT, the palapalapaapaaaa of the instrumental part can be played with the same chords of the chorus, adding your 5th finger taping on the big string, pulling the 2nd empty, pull the 3rd one when Am, say hi to D4, just try and have fun until you'll find something nice :)

not the answer you're looking for but it's not always that songs in the same key will suit your vocal range. i suggest pick out a song that you like and try singing along. in cases where the notes are slightly higher than your vocal range then you might find youtube karaokes that are 2 or 3 semi-tones lower. the might suit your voice. and there are many of these karaokes so you might find a few of those songs you want. i do the same. but for songs that i sing all the time and the available karaokes are still slightly high, that's when i transpose the tracks myself so they suit me perfect. but that's another story.
