Nah, OP had nothing to do with it. If it wasn’t for Sarah replacing his spine with her hands, he would’ve just ended up becoming a Slug who had his career ruined.

If like the place of work you usually feel an obligation to the business, especially if you just started your career. I know I’m going through something similar now.

I had this happen to me. Exactly 6 weeks later I was out the door. Everyone was shocked, though I have no idea why. I told them outright why I was leaving, that I was not going to work for that clown they promoted. 30 years later and it still was one of the best moves I made. This isn’t the 1950s and there is no loyalty. You are a mercenary and never forget that. Staying just means you’re a doormat who’s willing to be abused. There are better situations with better pay out there. Don’t be afraid to explore them. If you’re that good, it’ll put a kink on them at least for the short term, and it might even expose a fraud in the long .

I see why all this happened to OP: It's because OP is a spineless coward.

Op acts so pathetically you would believe they keep him in this job out of sheer pity, not his skills

I don't even think the story is real. OP is such a coward this is what they made up for kudos. Not even a good story

OP got his revenge alright, just a hollow victory since director did not promote him for the work done. The commentors were right to point out OP's lack of spine. No happy ending here, just a relief ending.

I don't have the 'embarrassment' gene. If someone stole my work and presented it as their own, I have no problem standing up in front of everyone and tell everyone it is my work, not theirs. Obviously, I would have proof of this, by saving every version of the project to show the progression (a trick I learnt in university) and presenting each and every single one of them in front of everyone.

I don't have sympathy for OP to be honest with you.. Companies have no loyalty.. How does he not know this at all? He put himself in this position, didn't speak up and just let him walk all over him. The petty part of me loves the revenge though...

OMG I can relate to that, unfortunately... Usually doesn't end well for one of the parties... I'm also into to loyalty to my Group as they're important to me... But then you don't have to give your 100% anymore... Or your 120%... Adapt and think about your mental health

Actually anything worked past the 9 to 5:00 is overtime and I would definitely be charging for it. But then again I had a boss that kept trying to do that and well they had an entire crew walk out on them so they almost had to close. Salespeople can sell a billion ft of whatever but if nobody's in the plant to produce it it doesn't matter if they sold a billion feet or more.
