Soma Kar is an artist, a singer, an actress. She has experienced Toxic Marriage. She was born and brought up in Duttapukur. She has an elder sister. Both of them used to sing, dance very well. They have seen that their parents were also very good at singing. Soma was brought up in a cultural family. Soma also used to participate in various dance and singing competitions and won prizes. Music was like life to her. She got married at a very young age in Kolkata. She thought she would come to Kolkata and make her career with music. After getting married she realized that no one from her in-laws supported her dancing and singing, but used to pass bad comments. They used to say that only prostitutes sing professionally. Meanwhile, she was married off with a false promise to teach her music. She did not get any support from her husband in this regard. After struggling a lot, Soma is an established artist today. সোমা কর একজন শিল্পী,একজন গায়িকা,অভিনেত্রী। তিনি Toxic Marriage এক্সপেরিয়েন্স করেছেন। তার ছোটবেলা কেটেছে দত্তপুকুরে। তারা দুই বোন তাদের বাবা মা কে ছোট থেকেই খুব ভালো গাইতে শুনেছেন। সোমা-ও বিভিন্ন নাচ ও গানের প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করতেন ও পুরস্কার পেতেন। গান তার কাছে যেন প্রাণ ছিল। খুব ছোট বয়সেই তার বিয়ে হয়ে যায় কলকাতায়। তিনি ভেবেছিলেন কলকাতায় এসে গান নিয়ে নিজের ক্যারিয়ার তৈরী করবেন। কিন্তু এসে বুঝতে পারলেন তার শশুড়বাড়ির কেও তার এই নাচ গান করা কে সাপোর্ট করেন না, বরং অনেক খারাপ মন্তব্য করেন। তারা বলতেন গান শুধু বেশ্যারাই করে। এদিকে গান শেখানোর মিথ্যে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েই তাকে বিয়ে করা হয়েছিল। এই ব্যাপারে তিনি তার স্বামীর কাছেও কোনো সহযোগিতা পাননি। অনেক লড়াই করে সেখান থেকে বেরিয়ে এসে সোমা আজ একজন প্রতিষ্ঠিত শিল্পী। কি কি হয়েছিল তার সাথে, সেই ঘটনাই আজ আমাদের মঞ্চে এসে তিনি শেয়ার করেছেন।
