Depends on how you're ducking. There are a few ways the game allows it without punishment but I agree with you. It's shit and needs to get better.

You absolutely can do that. That's my primary counter position. You have to time it or spam it, but you can 100% duck under looping shots and straights then counter immediately.

@BallJuiceOfZeus no need to take the L now, take the lead in every round early and use your legs. Majority of spammers can't fight moving forward and when they do move forward it's in desperation which opens them up to slot of counters.

Pay attention to the feet of your fighter the next time you get stuck in career mode. Your fighter’s feet are probably crossed with your opponent and you find your self stuck if you are trying to move in the direction of your opponent’s feet. If this happens move your fighter’s feet away from your opponent’s and you shouldn’t be stuck. I really hope this helps. 💯

The only way I have been able to win a fight on single player and undisputed difficulty is by throwing a ton of power punches. I try to jab and stay away and they still seem to just counter everything and destroy me with combos right through my block. Even if I try like Roy jones against the lowest skill fighter in middleweight. But I destroy them all on the next lower difficulty. I guess I just need more practice still, but they are crazy tough on undisputed

You know a game is terrible if the better you get at it, it looks less and less like an actual boxing match. Less like a real fight. Im sure this guys pretty good at the game but this game doesnt reward realistic fighting. Round 3 automatically forced a foot plant for a split second during punching and that added to the realism. Im seeing feet floating everywhere all the time including during punching and it looks ridiculous

you can block body shots, power punches will often go thru the block so you can easily play around someone throwing body shots but power shots you have to just play safe and wait to attack at the right times.
