If you're worried about this changing what you do fundamentally, there was Gundam Wing Endless Duel for the SNES. Never launched in the US but I am fairly certain this song was on the soundtrack.

Oooh, Gundam Wing~ Duo and Deathscythe were pretty badass but I liked Trowa's Heavyarms. Maybe just because it had two gigantic gatling guns. Then again, Zechs is the man, er, Milliardo.

This is a song about the introduction of Herro, the main protagonist and pilot of Wing Gundam. When he showed up he destroyed this girls childhood because warfare has that effect. She was super into him too.

While Wing doesn't really hold up at all as an adult, it is the series that got me into Gundam. It also continued a legacy of great music in the series. The Winner, Soldiers of Sorrow, Gouf Custom vs 08th MS Team...all juicy. And then you've got Through the Night from Outlaw Star that shares a similar vein. Oh, and great cover ;).
