Aaah yes, logbooks. My friend and I played for over 12 hours without sinking during community day. While I had to leave a bit earlier, my friend kept playing for another 2-ish hours and ended the session by letting an allied crew sink the ship, then joining their crew to sell the 14+ hours logbook. With the community day modifier plus reaper lvl 5, the book sold for 62,500 + 93,750 gold. 156,250 gold in total. That might be the most money you can possibly get from a single item.

10:04 Had one before, my own in fact. Was in Captains of the Damned for most of a day fishing for splashtails for the commendations and cooking them up. Left the Tall Tale, sold my haul of cooked fish for a good handful of levels, sailed for the Reapers hideaway and came across a new player. Got their attention and chatter with them. Scuttled my ship and handed them a logbook and a storage crate full of my leftover resources before logging off for the evening.

For anyone having the menu glitch: If you die it resets as well so def let you crew bring blunder bombs (If you can still walk while in menu you can also try to walk into fire or underwater)

1:30 you will always spawn outside the coral fortress, but you can teleport to the last checkpoint with the Mermaid statue in front of the door... Same happens with the Sunken Pearl Tall Tale... BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO DIVE AGAIN

I gave some new players my extraordinary log book a few weeks back. My mate and I were fishing for like 10+ hours, mostly at an active fort. We finished all the battlegill fish while fighting off other ships that came to do the fort because we wanted the fort to stay active. At the very last fish I needed, a gally crew came up as I caught my last fish, so I went and sold the fish and brought my sloop back and offered them the logbook because they were new and looked like they could use the extra money

If you wanna make it easier to see at night I suggest you change the HDR calibration in settings and your gameplay won’t be as dark. It helps me a lot so I suggest you try it out too.

That explains it, myself and 3 mates were pulling an all night stack, the session lasted for a good 10ish hours when we ended up getting server merged into a reaper sloop stacking fotd. After a long ass fight (45 mins) we sunk them and sold our loot and theirs for about 7 million, and the final item was an extraordinary logbook, which when I sold it I was astonished. After the haul my crew got off immediately and I happened to be chilling on my phone when my ships book floated up from my scuttled ship, and it was also extraordinary! Ended up burying the sucker because I was afraid it would be worth nothing if I sold it.

I usually play this game for 6-10 hours at a time, and it's not uncommon for me not to sink whilst doing that given that my playstyle is very reserved. I don't shy away from pvp if it comes to that but I also don't see the point in throwing myself against someone else's ship for no reason. I'm fully aware of my skill level, and I know there are a ton of people much more skilled than I. It's interesting to think that many of the times that I've been playing the most valuable thing on my ship has been something that I can't sell though, kind of funny too - I spend all the time trying to make gold and the random book on my desk would make me rich if I could.

A technique that I'll use when I'm a board and enemy boat is ill scoop a bucket of water and when they're almost there they're right at that last couple inches I'll throw it back in and sink them

They see the water levels around ankle or knee height they think they have time to fight. Suddenly the water goes from knee height to shoulder height and they have to drop what they're doing and start bucketing or lose the ship

well I make this assumption because at 2:25, you open your inventory wheel to pull out the lantern, showing that the reaper's flag is up. This is shown literally before you confirm that you sank.
