Last time I used the commodity trick I had the same thing happen with some of the loot. I also had so much loot that the skins were bugged, the chest of legends and the chest of fortune looked like regular chests, and my ammo boxes looked like fruit crates, among other discrepancies.

Actually the loot changing appearance is for performance reasons Why bother loading all this stuff when a wood chest is easier to show for example

Toxie, just an fyi, this looks very similar to a glitch I experienced not to long ago a few days or couple weeks before season 9 launched: we went on our non cap brig to DaggerTooth Outpost and with the same strategy, we brought the rowey next to gold hoarder's rep, destroyed it and ALL our loot was gone. After tinkering for a while, we realized about the same glimmerish shine where our loot was supposed to be, and it was until much later we discovered you can "bury" the treasure and then immediately proceed to dig it out so it would bring it back to the surface. It was a excruciatingly long process but we finally managed to recover everything and sell it. I know it wouldnt have applied to your specific case but hope this is useful in the future.

Warning!! Don’t use harpoon boats with lots of loot use it with tiny amounts of loot it will glitch out if too much loot ( I don’t know how much) but this also happened to bardcore

that rowboat's loot bug happened to me a few days ago, one of you have to disconnect and re-enter the server, after that the person who reconnects will see the loot (sorry for my bad english)

If you tried to harpoon the glowy stuff from the reaper tent it might've pulled the loot to you. I've had this happen a few times. Glowy part somewhere and the chest modelt is somewhere else under it.

Dunno if anyone has said it but the loot despawning is more likely if the loot isnt like dead center of the rowboat. At least from my experience it also helps to keep the boat away from the elevator in the center. Im in no way saying it has to work, but from experience I can say it should help.

I had a similar issue with a rowboat before the my treasure just seemed to disappear, luckily I realized that although I couldn't pick it up or see it I could bury and unbury the treasure that disappear to make it appear again

I just had a similar glitch where someone let their ship despawn with chests on it. The chests were in the water next to the starting dock but the sparkle was on my ship or floatingin the air where my ship happened to be. I couldn't interact with the sparkle effect or the chest.

We'll sail RIGHT past a port and he'll refuse to sell. About five minutes later.... you bet we gonna get Krakened in sight of an alliance of bloodthirsty PvP lords.

yea so, the elevator at reapers hideout is very buggy. once when i was selling loot like normal i was loot sprinting with a treasure chest and when i walked over the elevator, it just dropped through.. ive also seen instances of players simply falling through the elevator. its like theres no collision hitbox half the time, very strange

Any treasure that has been picked up and dropped again will despawn if left untouched If the loot is dropped on land however it stays there as long as possible approximately 2 hours

from my experience if you can see the glint of the item, you can harpoon it, even if the item “isn’t there”. happened with a captain’s key for me earlier. completely invisible item cannot pick it up, but i could see the glint and harpooning it brought it back into existence

Big flaw with using the fort of the damned vault to stack. If a superior skilled crew or larger crew show up and take your ship out and you and if they finish the fort they're gonna find a HOARD of treasure.

Last time the same glich happend to me and my friends. We saw the loot and luckily we had a chest of madness (idk how its called in englisch bc I am german) and I hit. IT WAS STILL THERE JUST INVISIBEL. So we stuck our briggetin on the Island and tryed to grab the things with the harpoon and guess what IT WORKED. Unlucky our ship despawned. I drove the ship back to the outpost at the same time a slopp was there to. The people we met were German so it was ez to communiced. So we stucked there boot (bc it was smaller) on the island and they got all our stuff back. (=

You could also raise your grade with reapers by sinking some Skele ships, Killing Kraken or Meg. as any loot that you harpoon and not touch can be used to get an grade 5 with Reapers. another way to go Stealth reaper.
