Looks like the start of a great series! I never noticed the rarity of the marching Timmee soldier, I'll have to look through my collection and see if I have any.

The machine gun isn't a Bren, it's an experimental Stoner 63A.

I think Barclay had a similar idea with their "podfoot" tin soldiers. Works a bit better with heavier materials!

I remember having a set of these when i was a kid in the early 2000. I don't know which manufacturer though. I remember one with like knees bent and holding like a sub machine gun in a weird way with one hand with the magasine pointing upward if i remember correctly. Also one was like a minesweeper, and there was tanks and trucks. I think they were bought in the 90s. Also one aiming pistol guy

I still have my Timmy Toy WW2 soldiers with the medic crew. The nurse and Dog. The Flag man. And the Soldier with the gas mask. I have the Auburn soldiers still too.

BMC toys has just introduced a new shade of blue army men, I bought them as soon as I saw them! Their a pastel colour blue. Maybe you could get some of them. What job do you do? I want to be a farming scientist after I go to college to do my AS levels! I think it's awesome that I am not the only grown man who like army dudes, my dad does approve because he says it's constructive. I also like Airfix model kits, there is a shop right up the road from me that does them.

I haven’t seen those yet! Also I just work retail nothing special.

@@theplasticcommander Their on the BMC website, I think you have mentioned them before I think! I wish I had a job, I passed the last of my GCSE's 2 years ago and will be doing my AS level in maths this year. I have work experience at a charity/ company. I only get paid peanuts but it's only temporary. I need to build up a CV before I can seek employment! The army men are called powder blue US army men! You seem like a really nice guy! You must be the only man on YT who likes army men more then me!!!! You're a big cutie!!!! Do you work out? I must say, you're a hansom man!

@@theplasticcommander Where do I enlist in you're military? I have an army too, maybe we could join forces and start our own country! I could be general of the plastic army! Do you have any ideas what we could do together? Maybe we could over throw a country and install a nice government in the place of nasty one?
@ronaldmcdonald83032 жыл бұрын
@@theplasticcommander I wanted to join the army when I was young, but because of my autism I couldn't get in. My friend who is a security guard for McDonald's was the same, he also is autistic. I recon if I had become a soldier, I would not of ended up being detained in a mental hospital. I used to be an angry man, some nasty things have happened to me over the years, but you will be happy to hear life is a lot better now! My teen years were a bumpy ride to say the least and not much fun!

I looked through a bag of vintage soldiers I got from an antique store and found one of that pose. I thought it was a different company at first.
@theplasticcommander2 жыл бұрын
That’s what I initially thought. I did some digging and found out it’s indeed a tim mee mold that didn’t get produced for that long.
@smileydog59412 жыл бұрын
@@theplasticcommander I can’t seem to find a mold of a standing rifleman aiming and shooting. Did that mold exist or is my memory faulty?
@theplasticcommander2 жыл бұрын
@@smileydog5941 A lot of army men sets had that one, including lido. Tim Mee didn’t have one like that though.
@miked6335 Жыл бұрын
@@smileydog5941 TimMee had one in their first series of WW2 army men. It was part of the second mold so is not common as members of the first mold. I have one sitting in front of my on my dektop.

I have a collection what I refer to as "Timmee originals." That is, Vietnam era Timmees (olive drab) when all the molds were still in use. Also, this would be when the grenade throwing soldier actually had a grenade. That mold was broken and subsequent soldiers simply has an empty hand. So I think we are talking about mid to late 1960's production runs, not all the the ones I remember buying back in the late 1960s, early 1970's. Anyway, I have enough guys now (465)(fairly sure they are the older ones) that I think this might be a statistically significant number to do some math. Trying to answer the question "when you buy used soldiers for your collection what is the distribution of the different original poses (13)?" Let's face it, sometimes there only seem to be officers, mortarmen and flamethrower guys in a random collection. So here goes, Officers (holding a M1911 and binoculars) 3.4% Machine gunner (Stoner 63A) 8.8% PRC-10 Radio Operator 5.6% M2 Flamethrower 8.4% Mortarman (40mm?) 9.7% M-16 Shooter (kneeling) 13.1% Prone M-16 Shooter 8.6% M-16 Bayonet Soldier 6.5% Bazooka (M20) Shooter 8.2% AN/PRS-7 Minesweeper 3.2% M-16 Grenade Thrower 13.1% M-16 Soldier on the ground (not shooting) 6.2% Marching Soldier M-16 at Rightsholder arms 5.2% Obviously the marching soldier is the most rare of all of these as compared to all Timmee Vietnam era soldiers manufactured. I have 1500 guys (of all eras, not counting knock-offs from Asia) and of those I have only 24 marching guys (
@refealibazeta78862 жыл бұрын
Those Timmy soldiers are the Vietnam era soldiers. They came out in 68. The originals are the late 60's WW2 soldiers Timmy made.

I don’t know why but when I buy TimMee army men my green soldiers are way brighter than all the vehicles. They’re not OD green but rather like a olive gree. Did I buy the wrong thing? Can someone explain please?
@theplasticcommander Жыл бұрын
They have a bunch of different shades of green on BMC’s website. Also, vintage figures will vary in shades just because the plastic used to make them just was being produced in slightly different colors.
