Fun fact: It was never explained in the movies why Woody doesn't have a gun. In early development he did carried a revolver but Pixar decided to cut it and for some reason, still left the holster. Some people thought Andy lost Woody's gun, but doesn't make sense since when Woody is in ''toy'' mode, his hands are not in a trigger finger pose. Above that, all the promotional material Woody sees in TS2 doesn't have him holding a gun. The explanation is that the Woody character himself (not the toy) believes in gunless law, he carries the holster as a symbol that you can solve problems non-violently

Im pretty sure canon explanation is that Woody (as in Woody from Woody’s Roundup) DID have a gun, but he misplaced it “years ago”. This is stated on the back of the original 1995 Woody doll’s box.

@@superflygreenscreens7178 I don't think you understand. Woody, as in the character from the Woody's Roundup TV show, misplaced his gun years ago, which is why Woody, as in the toy in Toy Story, wasn't produced with one.

It was weird for me to see Woody as a live-action version of himself at first, but I've warmed up to it little by little as I watched this. Somehow, it worked out pretty well to the point where I’m probably up for a Pixar Western movie that tells the story of how Woody became a sheriff. Now, I don’t think that would be for everyone, but the new Buzz Lightyear movie made its eponymous hero's appearance and origin story work for some people at least. Who knows what Pixar would do after that? Keep it up with the reviews, Justin! 👍

When I was a kid, Woody was always my favorite character and cowboy inspiration I had during my childhood since they were able to make a light-year movie out of buzz more realistic details with the character. I wonder if they were ever make a woody movie as well with his time as an adventure hero as a cowboy Sheriff

This video got me to like Justin's Collection even more. I love toy story too. It's actually the reason I want to go to college for animation in the first place. I did watch Toy Story Special Edition and Toy Story 2 both on VH, and I still have both that I believe work to this day. As well as Most but not all the Toy Story collection toys/collectibles

The big problem I have for this is the missing point in the front of his hat. Jessie has the round hat, but Woody's should have more of a teardrop shape from the top, and the sides flair up a bit more. If they ever produced a Jessie, this design would work perfectly (albeit the larger brim). The hat shape bugs me a lot more than it should. Great rundown! I'm sure this will go great with the lightyear Buzz, I'm looking forward to seeing how they pair up!

Admittedly it's different. I only collect Buzz, as he was my favourite character in Toy Story. Toy Story was a great franchise. Even loved watching Lightyear. Like any show / movie everyone has his or hers favourite character. As always kind regards Rikki

I know in the realm of third party anything goes and re-casting isnt anything new, but i think its worth mentioning and crediting the actual artist of this awesome sculpt - toyman_zhao - and so that people are aware Play Toy didn't design this figure on their own. That being said i also understand toyman_zhao's work is mainly for premium and exclusive collectors and this gives people an entry to his work in a way. For those interested definitely go check out the actual figure from the artist himself. The difference in quality is night and day, and although this definitely works good enough next to hot toys' Lightyear Buzz, the Toyman_zhao's figure matches up even better. Cool review and look at the figure still though Justin!

Thanks for watching! Toy Man Zhao is on another level. This does not come close. I do not believe this is a recast, Zhao’s sculpt is superior and also does not have moving eyes so there would need to be a tonne of medications here

Oh, look at that! Such an unusual figure. An interesting thought about making Toy Story toys look like real persons. As a gun nut I immediately reacted on the revolver provided. Not something a cowboy would wear. That´s a "copy" of a modern Smith & Wesson double action revolver with, what seems to be a compensated barrel (those small "holes" at the end). But then again this is such a fun version of Woody that it can pass since looking at other Woody figures the holster often rides empty. Cool stuff!

Toyman__zhao is the customizer who originally made this woody figure. It's a shame playtoys recasted his work and sold it as theirs

I do not think this is a recast. It has moving eyes, and looks to be a different shape. It would be an insult to his work to say this is his sculpt, his one looks a lot better
