I love what Toyah said about interviewing Jim Morrison. A key to understanding Jim is that it wasn't just fame that messed Jim up. He came from a military family & while Light My Fire was just released and becoming a hit, His Father Rear Admiral George Morrison was commanding a battle ship that was sailing into the Gulf Of Tonkin at the same time.

Much respect to Toyah for mentioning Lou Reed as one of her early influences. Reed, for me, was an absolute creative and artistic musical genius who was constantly exploring new ways to express himself be it delicate love songs, soul crushing rock, droney jams or theatrical concept albums. As a live performer he never played the same song twice in the same way. While he had a full life, imagine if he and Bowie could have each produced another twenty years worth of music/art!

This is a real good question . Frank Zappa once named Robert Fripps guitar solo in " Babys on fire" ,the worlds best guitar solo he knows. So what thinks Robert about the many outstanding guitar solos of Frank Zappa? ? F.e. "Shut Up and play your guitar" or in the 2 CD s" Guitar " Or. .. ..The very famous Inca roads solo . ....Or the " Yo Mama" solo. .and so on. But also : What is Toyah thinking of Frank Zappa? ? Have they ever Seen him Life in Concert ?

As for being credited as Bobby Willcox on Toyah's new album, Robert has already gone on the road as Dusty Rhodes (with Peter Gabriel in the late 70s), so pseudonyms are already part of his modus operandi.

I've got a question: Robert is famous for his litigious protection of King Crimson copyrights, and rightfully so. The last few months of Sunday Lunch have featured the absolute staples of the rock and roll guitar repertoire. Has he received the rights to play these on KZbin or has he contacted the artists before doing so? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it, but a friend of mine made his own little films for KZbin, and when he tried putting some Eno or Philip Glass music in the background, he was hit with the equivalent of a cease and desist immediately, and it would have cost him a fortune to use each of them!

@@madisntit6547 I had thought the same thing, even though it's kind of beside the point. But two weeks ago they got something like two and a half million views and a lot of press. There is money there. It kind of goes back to that old Napster argument. Some artists are really upset that they're getting ripped off with no compensation, others are happy to have their music out there to get the exposure which can lead to more buzz and ticket sales. Gary Numan recently said that one of his songs had a million streams, and he received the equivalent of $50 US. There's an example of somebody who probably really needs the money at this point. In this very same video, Toyah and Robert bemian how "the music industry" treats the artists very poorly! I'm not a lawyer either. for all I know Toya and Robert have some kind of a blanket license that allows them to play this stuff, or a simple call to their fellow artists clears it for them. That's why I asked the question,. The last thing I'd want to be is part of the "cancel culture" for something like this! :-)

i heard of your lovely agony aunt videos from my dear friend. My late husband was a King Crimson fan ever since he saw KC open for the Stones at the 1969 Hydepark gig. It's really a joy ,to see you both making the most of the lockdown and your time together.I have one question which might be of a more personal nature.Being of British and German heritage,I alsways wondered why Britsih musicians always tend to look to America for work and inspiration.Considering that music is an international kind of language ,with many variations,it's quite strange, that many still have these odd ideas.Myself i have been playinmg various instruments since i was a schoolboy in the late 60's,I adore music, but never made a penny from it,but it doesnt matter.I always why so many Brit always had this idea about the Usa as being 'the promised land'yes i do share the fascination of Jazz ,rhythm and blues, soul etc,but is it realy better just because it's American?

If I had 400,000,000 trillion hands (what a nightmare!), I would definitely vote them all for any instrumental (and vocal, too!) the party of Sir Robert in your new rockdown-collaboration ! And my feet, too ! )) But Archibald Amstrong, perhaps, was a genius of humor ! And now I want to share with you one case from my life, which shows how important it is to keep your posture correct and use the right pillows and mattresses for sleeping. So, I have my favorite sofa, but as it later turned out, it is very soft and pliable and is in the result has led to that one night when I slept on it, I spontaneously took an uncomfortable position, and I had a pinched vertebrae the cervical spine, leading to numbness and impaired mobility of the little finger on his left hand. However, in principle, there is nothing particularly terrible in this (everything could have been much worse!) - sooner or later I will cure it (I am already treating it), but now I am as a pianist and guitarist, i is deprived of the opportunity to fully play his favorite instruments, and it is better for none of the practicing musicians to bring themselves to such a situation. So I want to warn you about the treachery of soft beds. And in general, there are wonderful things to maintain yourself in the physical (and as a result - in a creative) tone : this is a MODERATE (!) temperature-contrast shower (it can be combined with a hydro massage), swimming in the pool (of course, if you love to swim and have a pool [I just heartbreakingly adore swimming !!!]). And you already have good exercise machines, as i can see. Organic vegetables and fruits, as well as medicinal herbs are also very good (only you need to get advice from specialists - which of them will be useful specifically for you). By the way, they say that Maestro George Harrison was a wonderful gardener !!! We sell many different useful herbs in Russia, as well as useful teas from various combinations of these herbs. Imagine how nice it is to sit in your cozy room (or in the warm time in the garden) and enjoy honey, tea made from a combination of healthy and delicious herbs (and be sure to cook on clean artesian [or just carefully filtered] water and listen to your favorite music on a high-quality sound reproduction system ! And then you can read your favorite or new interesting books !!! There are so many wonderful things to do in life ! However, I am sure that here I have not discovered America for you, and you are much more aware of this than I am ... ))) With respect and love from Russia, someone named AlMiNeo.
