The second form of the Toyama-ryu Battodo Kata (nihonme kata) describes defending against a single opponent attacking from the right (migi no teki). We anticipate enemy attack from the right side by making a horizontal cut with one hand, immediately after pulling the sword out of the scabbard nuki- tsuke. Then cut it with a diagonal cut kesa-giri from top to bottom, holding the sword with both hands.
Performed by Hanshi Tomasz Piotrkowicz 8th dan battodo (Soke Sogo Budo 10 dan karate, 7 dan kobudo). More information on the website of the European Budo Association www.budo-europe.pl and the Samurai School (Samurai Juku) www.battodo.pl
