This is an inherent fault in the electric motor steering system in alphard. I changed a new motor, a bush is loose, it will spoil every 1 - 2 yrs. cost me sgd 1400 to fix it. :(

I have something similar when wheel is turned approx 1/2 turn like a knock...feels similar to bushing....but DEF INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT POSSIBLY SPLINE AND KNUCKLE WEAR
