What's the quality of the headunit like? Does it have Android car play?

Hi Mathew. Quality wise is a tough question. The Head unit is pretty good operationally. I found the plastic surround below average but OK. To be be fair I think it fits the quality of the Car which has to be one of the worst riding vehicles I have driven. I wouldn't take this car on a long drive as I don't think my spine would survive 🙂 My wife loves it, so what do I know. Just watch which version you buy for Carplay. Supported in the lowest version and inbuilt in the other versions. These Head units are cheap for a reason. They utilise a large Amp chip which controls most things and generally don't have great heat sinks....but overall they get the job done and work pretty well. Haven't had one fail yet.

You ordered from Ali express or from local vendor by car is 2012 model just register. will it be compatible with it.

Hi, yes I ordered direct from Aliexpress. The fit was not perfect but good enough. As per the video the steering wheel control plug did not match and it took a little detective work to discover the wiring, but that's definitely part of the enjoyment working it out. I very rarely find a head unit that fits without some work. If the electrical works the head unit usually doesn't fit. If the head unit fits the electronics are all wrong. 🙂 The one in the video has been running without any issue. You could go for a smaller screen.

Can you show how you got the revers camera and the steering controls

Hi Ancil. The reversing camera is pretty straight forward. The after market cameras all need to be powered seperately by accessing the reversing light circuit. This is better being done at the rear of the car close to the reversing lights. Some cars do have access to this line at the head unit. Without a circuit diagram I am unsure if the Toyota does this at the head unit. Accessing the reversing lights is a far better method particularly if you have purchased a camera with led lights, as these will run all the time if you connect permanent power to the camera. Not to mention that its also illegal in a lot of countries to have a white light at the rear of your car running all the time. The video shows you how to access those reversing lights for powering the camera. You then need to run the long thin cable with the RCA that came with your camera to your head unit. Your head unit should have a RCA cable marked reversing camera or Back. The head unit will detect a signal on this line and switch to your camera when you put it in reverse. Finding the wires for the steering wheel controls was a little bit of trial and error without the circuit diagram. You will need a ohm meter to measure resistance to find where those steering wheel buttons are terminated. Unfortunately I am away from home for the next week and a half doing a bathroom installation so cant run out to the car to check on the exact wires for you. What part are you up to in your installation?

Well well what do we have here! I'm half way through an install on an Aqua and needed to consult the KZbinopedia and what do you know im furnished with the dulcet tones of another South Islanderrrrr 😅thanks a bunch n.b. agreed. scotch-locks are made by the devil 🙄
