I love your ongoing appraisal of french engineering. It makes me feel so much better as I encounter these things myself. I was caught out too, thinking I was buying Japanese. Fortunately £800 isn't a terrible mistake.

Great video, helped me replace the “indicator stalk” on my Aygo (13 plate) My only comment is there is a locator pin that need easing away from the steering column when the clip is squeezed it sits on the top under the clip - I accessed it form the side as the wiper control had need removed Also I did not remove the casing until after the steering wheel was removed and fitted it prior to refitted the steering wheel Thanks again really helped and saved me many pounds

What an awesome video! Changed mine, following this video, in no more than 30 minutes. Deffo need a pair of 45/90 degree pair of long nose pliers and also needed the steering wheel tool that I knocked up as advised in the video. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this video - life saver!

No angled pliers needed if you also undo the speedometer by the 2 bolts either side.. but agree this video is excellent and helped me no end

Mate you’re a legend thank you. Just replaced the indicator stalk on my Aygo and you were with me all the way. What looks to me quite daunting was methodical and straightforward. Only thing is the steering wheel coming off - gentle persuasion with a rubber mallet was all it took. Thanks! Simon

Cheers! This video saved me a lot of time. Not sure I'd have worked out quite what needed to be removed to get at it, otherwise. Very simple when you can see what needs to be done. Thanks again!

Very useful - thanks so much. I found that removing the two bolts holding the instrument cluster in place makes it so much easier to get the pliers onto the prongs of the clip in place. Also, remove the wheel completely before taking the shrouds off makes access much easier, with the small screw under the column going in last & easily once the other two are in place. Did the whole job in about 45 mins - cheers.

Cheers mate.. I’m using this as reference to do a 06 plate Yaris.. equal in the bs department in regards to design. Medium nightmare to get the airbag off though as it’s a model with radio etc controls on the wheel- on the Yaris there is a hole at the bottom which (using a thin flat bladed screwdriver) releases one of the retention springs for the horn/airbag assembly. I then removed the two silver plastic plates on the front of the wheel one of which houses the radio control (looks similar to your silver plates on the front of the steering wheel in your vid) the hex bolts holding them are accessible by pivoting the horn/airbag assembly up slightly. Once these are removed it is possible to use a thin tool to lever on the other two spring retentions to release the airbag/horn. I hope this helps any Yaris people who are struggling as there seems to be only one vid on KZbin I found which is in Italian and also cuts on the tricky part. Hehe

Hi M8, thanks for the vid. Ordered the part I was going to make the puller, can you confirm its 60mm between the threaded holes which would be 68mm centre to centre? thanks
@gearsteam70554 жыл бұрын
Hello, the distance between the two 8mm holes is 60mm centre to centre. Hope this answers your question 👍

Thanks for the video very helpful, with regard to the new part you fitted was it a genuine part or pattern?
@gearsteam70554 жыл бұрын
I used one of eBay, it said it was a genuine part but as with everything on eBay you never really know for sure.

What mileage has the car done? In one video I watched it was 32,000. I now have this problem on my C1, mileage 30,000. Is that a coincidence?

Hello, it’s been a while since I did this job, not sure it is possible to get it wrong,but have you got all the electrical plugs in the correct places?

@@gearsteam7055 I removed the oxidation from the original stalk, so there is no new stalk (might have to, if I messed something up :-( )
