This information is incorrect. I have a 2022 Camry LE with a key. My car has satellite radio in the factory radio. I tried remote starting my car and it did not work. I followed the instructions exactly. So, I researched it and the only way Camry has remote start is if you have the convenience package that includes push to start. I confirmed this finding with my local Toyota dealership. So, if you push a button to start, you have remote start. If you stick a key in the ignition and turn, you do not. Great feature when loading the groceries on a hot day, I assume with a hybrid car, the motor will be electric and no fumes out the back as your stacking the shopping in the trunk / boot. Fantastic, get the air going and c-o-o-o-l when you jump in!

I tried something like this in the past didn’t work. But a fellow Toyota coworker mentioned this again. I’ll try again. But mine is a 2018. It does have the remote start with subscription option. So it is capable of remote starting.

I don’t understand why Toyota doesn’t put a proper button on the keyfob for remote start like most manufacturers does, my mom just bought a 2021 RAV4 XLE and neither she nor i had any idea about this and i decided to pay for the app service, but fortunately i changed my mind and googled if new Toyotas had this feature because most new cars do and i stumbled upon this, i'm happy i don’t have to pay for the app but i also think is a deceiving practice and confusing for costumers specially when dealers which are supposed to be experts know nothing about it.

But if they can open the door, they can still steal stuff from your car. They should’ve made it to where it stays locked and you can’t take it out of park unless the key fob is inside the vehicle.

I have Sirius Radio on my 2020 Camry LE but the method you described didn't work. All the lights on the car flash like you described but the car doesn't start. My dealer said I don't have the auto start feature and even if I wanted to pay the monthly fee it still would not start the car.

Exactly! My wife has the 20 xse and I don't like that it turns off. If you don't have the key fob on you the door won't open anyway. They missed the mark with that. It's also the only car that I know of that you have to press 3 times to remote start 🙎🏾‍♂️

this is a subscription. you get 6 months of trial if you buy the car brand new from the dealer. After the 6 months, you have to pay to have remote start.

When I bought my 2019 carmy xse it came with remote start I could turn it on with the key fob or the app on my phone. it came with remote connect and safely connect service free for 3 years. So when the 3rd came around I was asked if I wanted to renew the service I declined cause I was thinking I still can remote start with key fob don't need the app I was wrong couldn't start my car with the key fob anymore

I have a 2015 Camry and was also not aware it had this feature. One important note about this video that is NOT correct, however, is that if someone not carrying a key tries to open the door, it remains locked and will NOT open for them. It only unlocks (and the engine turns off) for someone who is carrying a key.

I have a 2020 SE… when I attempt to do the key fob remote start the car flashes its lights. There is a whoosing sound under the car and it just does not start. I’ve taken it to two dealerships. They keep telling me they don’t know why it’s doing that they believe it’s a subscription issue, but the only subscription that I can get on that car is the safety connect which does not have remote start, I have no idea what to do. I have contacted Toyota headquarters. They told me that the car does not have remote start. It is not showing up in the computer that the car has a remote start but for some reason whenever I do this key fob test, the car turned on without actually turning over the engine And the dealership doesn’t know when. Oh and by the way, I’ve had the car for almost 3 years the warranty will be up in a matter of 15 days and they don’t know why the car is doing that

This is interesting. I have a TRD, and it came with Sirius. But I didn't continue the subscription. I don't have remote start. Everything lights up, but the engine doesn't start. Does that mean it's necessary to keep the Sirius subscription to use remote start?

Love this tip! Do you have one for getting a map app for 2020 Camry Hybrid LE so you don't need to plug in your SmartPhone? Toyota Customer Service says no; it had to have been factory installed. But then they didn't tell me I could use my fob to autostart, and instead told me it would cost $700 to install one.

Right. My roommate just got 1 and we discovered that it had remote start. But like you said and in the video, it turns off when we open the door. Its supposed to be a "security feature" but if I got the key fob on me anyway, I'm just gonna start the car anyway. The doors should just stay locked if someone doesn't had the fob. And unlock and stay on if I do have it

Its a security feature unfortunately, only way around it is to use your key to go into your car and it wont shut off.
