I owned a grey Carlos Sainz, I think from memory mine was number 2795, I had my car from 2001-2006, it was in beautiful condition, slightly modified, running 275bhp, I sold it for 4k

Take the boost pill out that restricts the boost buy 3-5 psi the ones in states had adjustable shock dampers with a push button

Nice buy. I have a white 94 St205 WRC in states. Paid $4500 for it with 62k miles in 2003. Most likely 1st WRC in states and 2nd St205 at that time. Older lady owner in Japan. Definitely a car never get rid of.

What an absolute stunner, that interior is so 90’s and so cool, brings back great memories, it must smell so good inside! I can’t wait for you to drive it on some modern rubber. P.s the garage looks phenomenal too Richard.

Love the 90’s rally theme you are going for, its right up my street. Its exactly the reason i have a P1 in the garage, takes me back to watching rally with my dad 👍 i do think you need a sega rally in the garage though 🤣

I love these car we in the states had the GTfour which was soo rare but great car my friend owned I had a spec C sti in white rally spec. I don’t how u guys can get these cars for a steal especially now with reproduction of the USA GR Four dealers are trying to find them put next to each other In showroom. Very hard to find and very capable

lucky enough to have bought 10yrs ago a 99STI coupe V5 (bought for $15k AUD), 94 ST205 GT4 ($25k AUD), 93 Pulsar GTi-R ($22k), 99 TME evo6.5 ($30k), and 99 R34 GTR Vspec ($50kAUD. Still have them and all registered and dead stock. Get era of motor cars !!!!

IMO they were never in demand because they were much more expensive than a cosworth or a Subaru and Toyota sold them stock with the boost too low at 6.5psi for the heavy but overbuilt drivetrain and the suspension was too soft. Toyota also marketed them as more of a luxury car as seen by the vast majority having leather, automatic climate control, and 10 speaker dolby surround sound all the way back in 1990. Better, more firm suspension, turn the boost up to 1bar give it a free flowing exhaust and you end up with +100awhp and a completely different drivers experience. I've driven a lot of cars over my years and I'd rate my 185 as among the very best drivers experience cars with just a few modifications that radically transform it.

@@trumanpriest144 the weight over the front was far too heavy.. the drive train couldn't keep up was another thing kept popping out ..a nice car yes but nothing to an impreza just my opinion 👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻

@@bla855 I think both cars of the same era where somewhere around 60/40 split. You are right though, in completely stock form the front feels VERY heavy - but it is lol. The 185 I think was somewhere near 400lbs heavier than a gc8.... something like 2800lbs vs 3200lbs. It really needed MUCH firmer suspension to keep it feeling like the fat pig it is stock.. What did you experience about the drivetrain not keeping up if you recall?
