I used this video as a "trainer" to help me clean the Throttle Body and Mass Air Flow Sensor on my 05 Tacoma Prerunner 4.0 Engine. This video is excellent for any "DIY." After cleaning the Throttle Body and attempting to remounted it, the first bolt I tried to torque to 15 foot pounds broke. Went to my local hardware store in-search-of a 6 millimeter bolt with a thread pitch of 1.0 thread pitch and luckily I was able to find a bolt of the exact spec and length. I just mounted the Throttle Body snug and didn't risk the 15 foot pound torque spec. No "check engine light" come on but the idle was a little high until I had drove the vehicle about 15 minutes or so and then it calmed right down. Thanks Sean.

One of the cleanest motors I've ever seen on an FJ! Lol. About to do the same maintenance in the next couple weeks. Great video. Would love to see more FJ videos.

Thanks for posting this! Did it today and glad I did definitely needed to be done. Only thing is the 15 ft pounds seemed high when i went to torque it. Was hearing the creaking sounds and stopped at 12.5 ft lbs. I saw a manual that showed 15 also so not doubting you it just seemed plenty tight at 12. Probably too detailed but thought id throw it out there.

Toyota Spec is 15 ft lbs but I would imagine you are fine at 12.5 ft lbs. I have done them without a torque wrench and just snugged them up before.

What is the spray you used? Might be an important thing to mention. 😳

You should always disconnect the battery anytime you work on a vehicle although I did not disconnect the battery when making this video.

Did you completely remove the throttle body from the FJ to clean the both sides or was it still attached? Great informative video...thanks for sharing. .

I unbolted the 4 bolts so I could clean the back side.
