Honestly, all the work cars i used was dmx's (long bed 2x4) hailux, hiace, prado and fj80 and they were beasts, never stucked with them abd they always did the job.. I am a big fan of toyota because they get take an abuse and still get things done, big ups fkr the new hiace im looking forward to order one when it wl be possible

In the Philippines the Hiace is offered in many variants. The commuter, Grandia GL, And a Grand Touring. And the hiace is more on for a big family, for traveling or just for uv express.

Resale value of the best European vehicle brands is lower due to expensive repair costs due to expensive spares. But for LCVs (light commercial vehicles) Nissan Vehicles retain their value due to reliability and cheap repair costs compared to Toyota LCV. Case in point is that I own a Nissan Urvan TD 27 LCV that is 35 years, mileage 547,000kms / 342K miles and in a day, it can still cover 1000kms / 625 miles without a sweat. A friend of mine owned a Toyota Hiace 2KD with a D4D Engine that he sold in 2018 due to high maintenance cost from replacement of diesel injectors, turbo and off road the car could not cope due to a rigid rear end or leaf spring setup resulting wheel lifted. But the car on tarmac, was better especially less body swings when cornering.

Solution to the V6 fuel consumption (specially if your in Victoria, New South Wales, SA). Convert it onto LPG!

And before someone calls me an idiot, I know LPG conversion isn't the best idea in everyone use case (especially if you're in a rural area or live somewhere like Queensland). However, many dealers are an authorized LPG installer, you will still make your money back on the conversion after 40,000-50,000km and, you won't have to deal with any diesel DFP issues and whatnot. The only issue is that Toyota might void your warranty for the conversion, should you have any problem with the engine (however if you're getting it done by the dealer, then I don't see any issue as the dealer should provide a warranty regardless).

@@fs-rj2jq the new bus 4x4 uses landcruser running gear, the old shape was parado.. it worked well, no issues working at mt bulla. its not just a part swap its engineered with different load rates with the beefed up suspension and has a modified compliance plate fitted.. even high milage 2nd hand are worth a lot of coin. but i didnt like toyota's crappy 4 speed autos, even the 6 speed auto has a lot to be improved on

Liked the boxy styling of the previous version, it wasnt that safest way but looked great and was very practical with lots of space on the inside. I only got to experience these as tourist buses in alot of countries, the safety there comes or doesnt come from the driver :) Nobody is buckled up anyways and with these speeds of maniac tourist bus drivers even larger crumple zone wouldnt be enough :)

My older Hiace is a pain in the rear once I got over the new car buzz. I have to remove stuff from around the seats to be able to access the engine and check oils and perform maintenance, and when the van is loaded or a little sagging in the rear from age the headlights point in the sky and blind oncoming traffic. The headlights do not have adjustment in them like all other cars. The fly by wire accelerator is dodgey on take off too with the petrol engine. Tells me the van is built very cheap and designed more for daytime deliveries than trades vehicles. I cannot find any reviews on the new model van to dispel some of these old issues.

All these new Vans here in the UK aren't a patch on the last 2012 Hiace with the d4d engine. Mine has done over 400k and counting and has never missed a beat. The new plastic fantastic Hiaces aren't even made by Toyota, they are shared here with Citroen and Peugeot with just a Toyota badge stuck on.

I have a new HiAce Diesel for a work van and the only complaint I have is that there’s no adjustable lumbar support in the drivers seat! I spend many hours in the seat every day and I have to put a cushion behind me for my lower back which at this price point is ridiculous.

The hybrid system is available in Toyota's HiAce based passenger vans in other markets so the engineering for a hybrid system in the HiAce is already done.

Lane keep assist vibrated the steering wheel if you wonder out of your own lane. You can connect the vibrations to a metal rod and direct them to your balls so that when you leave your lane your balls vibrate. That's what I like to do.

Six years to wait for a hybrid! Toyota said years ago that they were working to have every vehicle in their fleet come in a hybrid variant. I paid the money got one , 2.8l manual, I would say 60litre does 650 kms range , tank is 70l , light comes on last 10l , drives awesome and its silent inside , power has way to much really, 6 speed manual sold me the van, I would of paid 47,000 just to get out of the old shape, my legs to long in old model , it’s a lot wider now , old model is a death trap compared to the new one , also diesel man is a 1.900 kg tow which is not the 1500 u through it had , most bells can be turned of until u get used to it all, mate it’s safe now , bin the old model get a safe car I say, if u love your diesel u would change the oil every 5,000 kms yourself in 15min , diesel just burns dirty making oil feel like sand on a fingers , down full was windscreen damage took weeks , due to mouldings had come from Japan 🇯🇵
