There is a simple way to move the track back in place. On the end of the track where the control arm came off there is a hole than nicely fits a Phillips head screw driver. With the control arm back on the track...move the window down so the hole is visible in front of the control arm. Place round screw driver through hole then using the window motor raise the window. The control arm will push against the screw driver and move the track a bit at a time. You may need to put a wedge between the arm and screw driver to get the track fully into place. Expect to have to raise and lower the control arm/window repeatedly as it only moved a small bit at a time. Lube the track with grease where the control arm runs. I also lubed the side channels for the window with a silicone spray lubricant.

You dear Sir are genius ! I just fixed my window but after reading your comment I screwed a nut and bolt in the hole. It slid the rail across and I've left the nut and bolt in the rail so it won't slide out again. Thank you buddy !

This is starting to become an issue with the 2003 to 2007 Highlanders. I have a 2006, and talked to the dealer about it. It keeps falling out of track and the metal strip that is affixed to the glass itself comes off. A design flaw that Toyota should recall! Simply look at how many videos on KZbin there are covering this .....

metal track fell off my 2001 highlander window. I rarely used the window, so this actually surprised me. In any event, I agree that Toyota needs to man up and fix this issue.

my 2007 highlander had power steering pump replaced @40k miles, power steering hose @60k miles, aircon compressor started making noise @65k, now @70k window and door lock motor need to be changed .....my 1999 camry with 120k miles only had valve cover gasket replaced rest is regular maintenance
