Thanks for your videos. They are super helpful ! Removes the fear of trying these things for myself on my 2015 Toyota hilux. Really and truly minor servicing like these can be done by ourselves. Don't be afraid folks. Thanks for showing us all. Bless up!

Thank you so much for this video. I just changed mine for 2017 Foton Tunland 4x4 using your exact method and it worked like a charm. Foton Tunland uses the exact discs as Toyota Hilux 2.7 and 3.0 4x2 and 4x4 1998 to 2005. I used Ferodo FDB797 which are the same as the Foton as well as the Hilux original, but at a much cheaper price. I hope that further helps somebody out there. Thank you very much again. May God bless you. Shout out from South Africa. [Side Note: I bought the Tunland because it's running on a 2.8 Cummins Engine and at half the price of my previous Hilux]

Tip: when you're pulling the pistons back keep an eye on your reservoir. You may need to syringe some fluid out.

Why is that? Im about to do it so... Thanks
@modvs15 ай бұрын
@@gustavofantela5924 If the brake fluid has been topped up as the pads have worn down, then it's a good idea- could spill over.

Thanks for posting this 👍, Any tips on rotor replacement on the hilux in regards to the caliber etc
@driftcarsjp3 жыл бұрын
You just need to unbolt the brake caliper and the disk will come off. You may need to use a m12 bolt to screw in to the disk to break the rust seal.

Why did the inner and outer old pads have the wear indicator? 6:22 you can see the inner old pad also has one. I'm changing the brakes on my hilux and can't figure out if the pad with the wear indicator is on the outside or inside. You said it should be on the outside but you apparently had them on both sides...does it really matter? Can anyone pls help clarify. Thank you.
@driftcarsjp3 жыл бұрын
The old pads were fitted incorrectly who ever did them before me put both wear indicator pads on the same wheel.

After fitting on brake pads (safeline)and brake rotors(kratex brake rotor)on my Toyota fortuner the steering vibrates but only does this when I do speed
@driftcarsjp3 жыл бұрын
Check the wheel nuts torque. Or you may have knocked off a wheel weight.

@@driftcarsjp okay I only have 2 shims on my pads and what do you mean by knocked off wheel weight

When I do speed and then brake then it starts vibrating that's what I meant and forgot to put in the comment

If you get any vibration when braking it's warped brake rotors. You may have been sold defective pair.

No thats the great part about diesels .. they dont need a lot of serviceable items replaced. Only other part is the timing belt they are quite easy to do. I'll see if I can do a video on timing belt replacement.
