Spares seems to be super expensive. I 100% agree to what Dinesh said. It can be 2x costly than local brands but not 10x. I think there is hype these days about Toyota cars. I would never doubt the reliability of Toyota, but yeah cost spares is high. I have also heard they do not sell spares in local market and we have to buy them from Toyota only.

Good to hear that you ultimately find the right vehicle for your expeditions bcoz car is your only lifeline in extreme conditions. I have also done so much trips with my Ford Aspire, the only issue I found is the cold start bcoz of faulty glow plugs sometimes but otherwise it’s damn reliable, very powerful, rock solid electronics and software, never overheated in any situation even I dove it 20-20 hours continuously. Your diehard fan, keep travelling and stay safe ❤

Wish we could get the Hilux here in the North America. The current Toyota Tacoma has really downgraded in terms of reliability with the turbo I4 engine. I got the Nissan Frontier over the Toyota because it still has the trusty V6.
